Where is everybody?

(Rex) #181

There are still plenty of bugs, some just take time to explore. Will probably upload my new wave of bugs tonight.

Don’t worry, in a few weeks there will be many new players and you won’t encounter only the experienced players on the servers.

(BomBaKlaK) #182

For the moment the the server population is getting worse everyday.

(attack) #183

well too many fps problems for many players ,random lags,.
no scrim servers…(we had to play a draft join all the same moment a 5v5 server.

Magic of ET ?

(AsKo_) #186

the activity is ridiculous and goes to zero.

(DarkangelUK) #187

I wish the community here had the magic of the ET community as well, then we’d get o… actually no that was filled with tools as well. Magic of RtCW community, much more mature!

Relax just see it as “test” closed beta start, I mean better fixing problems now than later when the game is opened up to a much bigger community.

Cause if SD had already invited ppl in the closed beta; many would probably stop cause of server/launcher issues. This would be the first thing “sceptical” gamers (especially towards F2P) pick/hate on it and they would blame “nexon”. Several what if scenarios will be reflected by the community and in the end some ppl wont never touch it, only cause of their subjective brand reputation towards nexon/SD.
Others would blame SD for making the same mistakes as they did with brink; so most ppl who didnt like brink wont play it as well (performancewise, art style and so on)… “they didnt learn from it…” and so on.
Another impression could be, nexon and SD dont care about its product, in what shape it is. “All they want is money like EA, there are even this Karma Koins on nexons webpage, I was already asked, but they dont care about the game”.

Only that you get a grasp of it, what ppl will/are talk/ing if things go wrong.

Sometimes its intended by certain publishers/developers, sometimes its not or coincidence.

See in what prejudices players can fall, because there is a picture of “rainbow and sugar” game developing around;
Therefore it should be a rather perfect start when introducing more players. Even closed beta things can be re-arranged to a certain point, later in open beta things have to be rly “perfect”. In other words, the more players are introduced, the more completed should be the game,.

Officialy closed beta is running (since 15.), which is actually true (anyone doubt it?!). Player’s view from outside is: everybody is already playing 24/7, so when they get invited they dont want to face our problems(server, connection), they want to find the “ideal” environment to play the game, i.e. some players on server at most times (but good servers are the reqiuirement), no external issues(nothing that isnt related to their hardware).

The sooner things are corrected, the better; For me its a sign of professionality to solve problems being aware of, before closed beta invites get out.
Why open things up, if basic problems are known and there is still the possibility to fix it? Pls understand.

I actually was enjoying some games on a full server yesterday. Then the server crashed and the players disappear.
Lack of server stability, turns into a lack of players real quick.

You folks can definitely help us with this process as well by making sure you report any issues you have on the Nexon forums. Finding and fixing as much of this stuff as possible will really help us to retain a large and active beta community once invites go out.

Your help is very much appreciated!

OK. I’ll make it short this time:wink: . Most(all?) of it was probably already mentioned.

#1, the 3 pre-selected mercs disappear from time to time, so I’d have to choose a whole new set

#2, loading the game still takes forever(up to 4-5 minutes), without any indication what’s going on; the starting screen just appears suddenly

#3, it takes quite a while, till the mouse cursor appears in the “in-match” menu

#4, the “intro-lag” upon initially joining a match is extreme. It takes at least 5-10* seconds, until you could move at all

#5, ranks still aren’t permanent. Though I could imagine, that’s intentional, so everybody would start with “0”, when the game actually goes live.

#6, yesterday I played soldier; I shot a guy(a sniper) for around 3-4 seconds with the SAW, got hit-beeps for at least 75% of the time and he still managed to keep 30% of his health and killed me, as a result of that. One of the greatest WTF-moments I had so far.

*sounds short, but feels like a half minute and is quite annoying.

I agree with all your suggestions. I would also add a que to get inline on a full server…

Hit beeps and sound throw off the game a little. Makes the over all feel off and odd…

SD, Knows Balance is still off but have made significant improvements over what it was.

One thing I will say and this goes 3 or 4 patches back is that I remember when SD was messing around with timing and the size of the maps or objective stages. The time almost seems like a non-issue or not as important because everyone can do obj. No one is really working in teams or pushing in waves unless they spawn together… It feels very random with people everywhere and even with this crazyness the obj team can still win because it just takes one person to plant doing whatever roll. Its not like I am protecting a valuable engy because if he dies I need to wait 30! Teammate dies muh he will be right back… Gib? Naaa Why should I can get 3 total kills then… Kill the first person wait for medic to rev kill the med then kill the rev’ed guy again!! On the reverse that medic just wont rev. Right now what happens is that medic goes for the kill and get face rolled because of balance…

(EnderWiggin.DA.) #193

Preach on! Unless they drastically change the times for the “wrong class” to do the objectives.

(Ruben0s) #194

Well I decided to give xT a launch (it’s weekend) and I was surprised to see that the servers are still empty.

From this thread: http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/38126-PAX-Beta-Keys/page3 , I got the impression that the pax players finally got their key, but I can’t see them in game. What happened? Did the pax keys get distributed? If so where are the hundreds of people who got a key?

EDIT: Oh well… All the servers are down… That explains enough.

(shaftz0r) #195

i dont really get it. the servers are full for about 15-18 hours a day. im EST and when i get home at 6pm, there are still people in euro servers. On my days off, there people playing at 8am est, but yes, theres only one server right now and its tdm crap, all of the other servers are down

(INF3RN0) #196

I’ll be back online in about 3-4 weeks, as long as DayZ standalone isn’t out by then

(shaftz0r) #197

cant wait for that

(Brinkman) #198

there always appears to be 1 server with people on it. sometimes it’s full sometimes it has like 3 people. No idea why they haven’t dished out more keys to get people playing.

(Brinkman) #199

This is some good insight, SD take note. I know they want to get away from “class” playing but c’mon, a medic is a medic, an engineer is an engineer.

I dig that anyone can help out with an objective, but all at varying speeds based on class. But we really need to change the way the planting objective works. Maybe non engineers require a 2 stage planting process instead of 1?

(Smooth) #200

We’re working towards getting more objective proficiencies in to the game, including different arming times for C4 charges but it may be a while until these make it to you.
