Where do you think hunter fits?

Do you think he is overpowered, balanced, or under powered. When i heard about him having to not worry about ammo i got extremely worried about arrow spam but its just not viable and no scoping doesn’t seem to do any damage. Hes EMP bolt cool down is hard to say if it recharges just right or to fast. but with all those things i think he seems balanced.

But no matter what…Its always lovely to have another member in the beard club.

Arrows suck too slow for my liking and i wpuldnt wory bout arrow spam most of them miss anyway l. I had a hard time today hitting people with them

Too early to say whether he’s balanced really, there’s still 4 hunters per team, and all of them miss every single shot. And I haven’t bought him, so my only experience is facing them.

He does seem pretty useless once you get close to him though. Other recons are small enough or have decent enough weapons to leave or fight back. But hunter, well, he’s large, slow, and has terrible close range weapons. It’s like getting too close to a thunder, only all he can really do is wiggle his arm at you
I’m just disappointed they didn’t really do that much with his bow. Yeah, it has an EMP ability, but it’s really not much. Would have been nice to see it do something more unique instead of another long range weapon, only this time extra gimmicky for all the bow fetishists.
Not to mention unlike someone like Guardian, who was created to address explosive spam, Hunter fills no proper role and really doesn’t add anything proper to the game, besides randomly getting hit in the head and not hearing where it came from.

He feels like another Sniper class, only with different shooting mechanic.

Not my cup of tea, since I dislike scope vision. Not to say I won’t play him at all, just sometimes.

The anti-Turtle Shield + Bushwhacker Turret was discovered early and was countered.

He shouldn’t be able to spam bolts like that. That xbow needs some limitation like an overheat mechanic or a clip.

Two thing I don’t like with him are the emp doesn’t work on guardian shield (shield is too big in comparison to emp radius) and i wanted emp (just the hunter’s one) to not only disable thing but make explosive explode (proxy mine and stickies), much more fun imo.

I feel like he could use a charging system like Sparks, hold to charge, release to fire. I don’t the fact he is able to spam and doesn’t get punished for missing. But then he will have to get a normal bow instead of a crossbow :tongue:
But I really don’t like how big the falloff of the arrows is.

Another nice feature I can think of is to make his bolt do low damage at close range, but deal increased damage as the arrows travel more. But that may be too advanced and idk how it will play in an actual game. But at least it will make up for the arrows being so slow and dropping so much at longer ranges

I’ve had some games as him where I couldn’t hit shit, but then I got used to it and started slaughtering people. At the current RoF, the damage is really high. You can drop people nearly as quickly as a MOA and the projectile hitbox makes it easier to do so.

Also, does anyone know the damage on the bolts? I think I got one-headshot as Thunder, which surprised me. But I may have taken damage the instant before so idk

Honestly I don’t mind the fact that he can spam bolts, so long as they don’t do much damage. We already have way too many snipers, all of which have more or less the same varying degree of slow-firing long range weapons.
Removing that would turn into just another rehashed version of the other snipers we have, only this one has a gimmicky crossbow for all the archery fetishists. And well, he’s already fairly similar to what we have already. The last thing DB needs is a bigger focus on slow-paced sniping.

Yesterday people were saying he was trash, today the script seems to be flipped.

In all honesty, I think he’s really awesome. Like Sparks, if she wasn’t a medic and instead stole a couple Recon abilities, and her REVIVR couldn’t overheat.

What sells me on him, though, is that his crossbow bolts don’t act like bullets, and have a wait time before they connect. Makes it feel like… you’re shooting Nader’s grenades really, really fast, and they only do contact damage (like when you shoot one at an enemy that’s too close to you, no explosion), and can headshot. Does that make sense? So it’s much easier to lead enemies and stuff like that. I think it’s a lot more fun than Vassili/Aimee/Redeye sniping, just my opinion.

Anyway, nobody cares about that because phanteme rework

edit/ Also, the crossbow is faster than the current sniper rifles, which is great because slow sniping is a joke for a fast-pace game like DB

Arrow projectile travels too slow - has to be faster.

BUT

lower the damage. OR lower the RPM.

  • limit his arrow ammo.
