Where do I start - The issues I've noticed.

So rather than type numerous posts I thought I’d just slam it all in to one, this is going to be pointing out a few irritating problems I’ve noticed about an all around fun game, let’s begin.

Issue 1: Machine guns or no guns; that’s pretty much how it feels, unless you’re a pro sniper of course, but hands down no problem there as that is about as skilled as it comes. The issue being the various fully automatic guns are way too easy to use and remain precisely accurate to a pin at all ranges, even without using irons the spread remains intact and easy to account for at full burst throughout an entire clip; in complete contrary to the sightless, semi-auto carbine- where after one shot it is at full stretch guaranteeing your next shot misses in near point blank range, how illogical is that? In a game with advanced movement tactics this seems a rather strange move to take, effectively dice rolling half the damage that you might or might not take.

Issue 2: I’ve spawned into a game before only to find out I can’t shoot, aim, nor melee, all this because after endless searching it seemed the control menu randomly cleared these 3 buttons.

Issue 3: Certain mercs have way too much health - that or something else is going on behind the scenes:
The bushwacker seems notorious for this, as on many occasions I’ve had one on the turret 10 feet away firing at someone else, and only after planting 15 shots in his head did he die - pings to boot, also seem to be able to survive standing on mines and other such explosives.

Issue 4: The one you get posts about daily I’m sure…
Loadout cards? Really? Nothing can be custom? Put it this way - I decided to get Redeye; and absolutely useless merc who’s IR goggles don’t even see through an inch of wood. A downright dirty launch of a character… But I will make a separate posts about his other issues. So I got him, went to purchase the loadout class with the 20% melee damage and the 25% attack speed combined. Didn’t look much into more of it, but upon purchase I soon realised this card doesn’t even contain the damned fuckin’ kukri you guys advertised on his youtube video?! And we can’t even change this. In a bigger picture, you’re not even pushing people to use their imagination to find loadouts that work well together for each merc in custom loadouts, you’re funneling them into using the one best card each merc has. Which has a contrasting effect on the balance of the game which is why you implemented the card system in the first place…

Issue 5: Very poor interactions with various objects in the game world - Can’t shoot through a postbox, can’t through a grenade through an open, glass-less window you can fire through… and well, there’s too many to name!

  1. You’re wrong if you say the rifle is inaccurate. Seems you just can’t play with it.

  2. Highly doubt the game remapped your main keys by itself.

  3. He has only 110 HP and mercs with more trade it for a speed penalty. Either you miss the head, or your ping is way too bad to get actual hitreg.

How do magn…infrareds work?
Isn’t it your damn fault if you buy something without looking at it? He was labelled as Phantom, where only 3 loadouts have the special melee.
“Imagination” will lead to imbalance. SD did a good job at the loadout cards. Also there aren’t many mercs out there with that “perfect” card.

@laudatoryLunch actually, it’s a known bug. I’ve had the mouse-buttons become unbound a few times and had to rebind.

Yep. This post screams to me that this player simply doesn’t understand the game or it’s mechanics. For example wanting the kukri on a loadout card with both quick slash AND chopper… Mein Gott. Even with the combat knife that is insane. ALL THAT SAID this is a very valid complaint and an actual issue, I have had my keys wiped before too. Simplest thing ever to fix but annoying.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who has to keep rebinding his strafe and fire keys.

I’ve never had that issue before. I have had it where I couldn’t shoot or change weapons after a spawn but that was quite a while ago and I’ve not had it since…and I didn’t have to rebind anything. It would start working after about a minute.

my game would always rebind thing, most notably the mect selection keys were never functioning right. i rebinded f1-f3 to vbn or similar and the game randomly switched between the f1’s and my binds. i then decided to leave it at default, forever.

I’ve never actually had my keys unbind, but I’ve had my master volume drop to 0 for no reason upon launch.

You do understand how IR works right? It doesn’t go through walls.

Only had my keys unbind on reformat.

My keys rebound after a patch, happened about a month ago and hasn’t happened since.

The only thing I agree with is point 1. I don’t even agree with that fully.

I do feel as though the rifle gets outmatched at range by anyone with the M4, but to say it’s inaccurate is a lie. It is accurate, it’s just aimpunch and bullet spam makes the gun hard to use.

#1. Yes, it is rather weird, that spraying with lmg seems to have far lesser effect on accuracy than shooting even couple of rounds with a battle rifle.
#3. Seen it many times, i think its related to some perverted compensation script. Its not a health issue. Constantly see players who are down to 5-10% health simply getting away, taking no damage, while im continuously pumping them full of lead. Or running into a guy, land a few hits, die and then see him running away with full health.
#4. Has been discussed again and again, pretty much always. Devs still resist those inevitable changes. Just give it time.
