Unfortunately, because of the way the forums work there are a lot of limitations on what can be changed or added. Believe me, the other mods and I have offered tons of suggestions!

First of all, this forum isn’t made by Nexon or SD, so the “security” you incorrectly refer to isn’t even theirs.

Secondly, this shit happens. Nothing is impenetrable. The only thing you can do is hope that the administrator(s) find a way to fight the spambots… until next time. It’s an endless cycle of party A vs party B. It’s the same story with cheat vs anti-cheat. This is how things work.

Penalizing the entire user base with this restriction is a huge mistake and the wrong way to go about fighting spambots. It’s already pretty silly that there are restrictions here that say “you have posted one times[time] in 240 seconds and you must wait 300 seconds before posting again”.

EVERY post is “one time in 240 seconds”.

Fact is that the spambots have been a problem for over a year. Every now and then we are caught by surprise. In particular we have lives outside of the forums we deal with. We can’t be vigilant 24/7, like others have said. Going to move this thread to off topic.

@els Have you noticed that during normal day/early night hours these spambots don’t seem to be a problem? Yeah, it’s because us mods that you seem to believe “don’t pay attention” are paying attention. However, what you are neglecting to consider is that we are not paid employees and simply volunteer our time when available to help out. Raz and Nexon know this and don’t have unreasonable expectations when it comes to us being around. But apparently that is not an expectation you share with them.

I am not sorry if I have to sleep, have a social life and not be around 24/7. Myself and the others are not your servants. We do what we can when we can. We will help anybody who asks. We also do everything we can to combat the spam issue but the main issue is that it comes in waves and the only defense against, currently, is turning on moderation that simply doesn’t allow people to post without mods taking the time to allow them. Sometimes we think a wave of spam is over and the moderation queue gets turned off and then something like this happens at night for us/early morning for Fara and it has to go back on.

But let us get down to it. A post like yours is simply rude and rings of pure ignorance and entitlement. If you’re upset by this go elsewhere. I’m not being nice on this…not even a little. I’m nobodies servant.
