When where these given out?

I saw this in the genome project and I was wondering when the hell they where given out, especially the thunder and Aimee ones as I was here for both of there releases and I didn’t here anything about them being around

These loadout cards were never given out because they are exclusive to Splash Damage employees.

Well that’s pretty sad isn’t it @Kirays . Cause I would pay slot if money for those cards.

They updated heaps of their loadout cards to the best loadouts compared to season 1, funny stuff.

I gotta say Obsidian and Humble are my favorite cards. The weapon skins are too good and I hope we get more Obsidian cards in the future.

I was saying maybe they should relabel and sell the Nexon skins…it would be a win win in my opinion, don’t need to spend time designing a new skin and they’d make money from it for almost no work at all.

The Nexon skins are basically a plain background splattered all over with “NEXON” and their logo

You remove that (which you would have to do to make it a non-Nexon skin), you’re left with grey skins with bits of green trim… :confused:

I don’t think it’s to bad of a skin, all they’d need to do is get rid of the logos…can still use the colors…would be cheaper than designing a completely new skin that they would have to apply to every merc.

Nexon doesn’t have a copyright on the color combinations of blue and yellow.

You have to understand that DB skins are not individually drawn, each merc has skin templates (black and white skins that have all the folds and creases, material textures, highlights and shadow effects, etc…) which get “painted over” with flat colors (like the shoulder and mask stripes on Phantom) or with “wallpaper” (camo or other patterns). All you need to change are those base colors and wallpapers and you get a whole new skin.

For the Nexon skins, the wallpaper probably looks something like this:

This is how you end up with the color patches you see on that Phantom skin:

Now take away those Nexon logos (not just the text, but the whole thing because the picture is copyrighted as well), and all the colored areas circled above are now the same gray as the background around them.

You’re right, you cannot copyright color combinations. But you can copyright a combination of specific shapes of specific colors (i.e. a logo). SD could create a new set of skins with those same colors as long as they are arranged differently than on the Nexon’s logo. Basically they would have to create a new wallpaper which is the main effort in creating a new set of skins using this technique. Effort-wise, there isn’t much benefit in recycling those compared to creating brand new ones.
