When can we expect LITHUANIA support? Its the first game on steam I encounter this issue.

Problem is publishing rights were sold off to a Russian publisher, who don’t really care about DB any longer. If anyone is to blame (not that I am saying you are doing that) it’s SD and the Russian publisher. I hope it gets resolved soon. It just does not make sense that one baltic country is not able use DB with the rest of the world, but is being excluded to the russian dominion, while the others can. Yes, that’s right, besides the russian publisher not giving a fuck about DB anymore, there literally used to be a digital iron curtain between the SD/Nexon version and the that version. In fact, any such division makes little sense from a human perspective.

If anything it’s Nexon’s fault. They’re the publishers.

(Runeforce) #4

It was SD that sold off the rights, before Nexon really got involved. Since the russian publisher does not care anymore, I hope Nexon will be able to secure the publishing rights, at the very least for Latvia and other non-russian states, but preferably coming full circle.

We’ve been adding countries in Asia and most recently Latin America. Rest assured we are working on getting others. You’d be surprised at how much work it takes to sort out contracts and legal rights and such  Thanks for the patience.

I don’t wanna be too insensitive, but do you know how long does it take (like days, weeks hours etc.)

Did you just call Latvia a ‘state’? Soviet Union collapsed nearly 25 years ago… Latvia is full member of the European Union now. What does a russian publisher have to do with anything?

What the fuck am I reading?

(Runeforce) #10

The EU is made of it’s national member states. ‘Nation’ or ‘country’ could be another word, if you so prefer.

All rights were sold off in certain jurisdictions, years ago by SD before Nexon got involved, to a russian publisher.

If you really want to play now, I’d suggest buying access to a VPN, at one of your neighbors.

Latvia has nothing to do with Russia. Why is some unnamed russian publisher even relevant?

And no, I am not from Latvia and I can freely play.

(Runeforce) #12

It’s relevant because of law.

Let’s use your logic for a moment. Nexon is a Korean Publisher, what does that have to do with Latvia? Or any other country besides where they are based? (Primarily Japan, South Korea, USA, Luxembourg)

We are living in a global economy where business have rights and assets in/for countries that they have no employees in. If another publisher OWNS the rights to publish in a certain area, then Nexon cannot legally release the game there.
