Whay not some wolfenstine Et maps and weapons to hype this game up a litel?
is Shode be Awesome! Just like Battlefield use its Classic map Iwo Jima. from there 1942 Bf in later battlefilde games.

I’d like to see some Brink maps with balancing changes. I liked the complexity of some of them.

It seems that SD wants to make maps that support all types of play: close/medium/long range specialists, snipers/naders/shotgunesr, etc.

Imo, better just make maps and let community figure out what the meta is. The fact that a particular merc is great on one map, but terrible on another is GREAT and SHOULD BE PROMOTED MORE.

a) more strategies used in the game
b) emphasizes the good&bad of individual mercs
c) gives everyone something to love, rather than meta falling into most optimal mercs for all situations.

One thing great about QW maps are the pub metas revolving around the game. Strogg on Valley-mcpstage would spam constructors with AV turrets. Push them back to shield generator or last stage and you see more medics/soldiers. Strogg on Salvage would spam violator’s on objectives, GDF on Slipgate first stage would be covert-heavy, etc.

I like what you are saying Sza, problem is, when logging into a game.
I usually have a few seconds (if am lucky) to pick a merc.
if my team is all phantoms or naders and we need a constructor, well i cant switch out a merc, that window has passed loading the dam game!!
even if am lucky to be sitting at the map selection, once a map is decided, you still only have brief seconds to switch out a merc.

thats what i miss about ETQW - like you pointed out, you can switch you character at any given time based on the task at hand…

Thats why i miss the 5 merc loadout when you can choose one of each type!

Its long, boring, not user friendly to change merc/card in the loby. the sync time is awful

protip: pick your loadouts in barracks before the map starts

a) you only have a few seconds left if you join a lobby from mainmenu, as the countdown was already in place
b) if you join lobby on a server you were just on, you should have plenty of time to pick your mercs
c) don’t care too much about other player’s selections: you can never predict what will they actually play (from the 3 they have selected)

In the lock-in lobby, I pick my three mercs based on the map chosen.
Once in warmup mode, I choose my active merc based on the team composition.

And put the mercs in 2nd WW Uniforms … that is the least you can do without replacing the weapons with MP40 and Thompsons … pretttttttypleeees?

apart from general improvements there’s not much i can do without the sdk, its up to sd to adjust it for DB now which won’t happen for ages

Gold rush is in there, Chapel, what with the escorting tank, and barrier, and blowing the door in the courtyard with the two staircases to the side.

Diffuse ze dinomite!
Speaking of ET, who remembers stealing a German uniform and changing in the little guard room outside the Fuel Dump, then running casually into the base.
Or stepping on a mine and diffusing it on the spot. I miss those little things. But trick jumping in DB is awesome and a game unto itself.
