What's your favourite aspect of Brink?

I could have done that, and thought about it, but it’s not going to hurt you if you choose customisation then explain in your post.

It’s not like this is for anything but a little bit of fun.

Went for OBJ-based gameplay because that’s basically why I bought it.
SMART is a damn fine bonus though.

I love the part where Brink inevitably gets an OpenGL error and crashes. This is only second to joy of joining yet another server with no voice communication even enabled.

it’s hard to vote really. it’s hard because some aspects of the game really attract me, but they weren’t done as well as they should have. other aspects i really enjoy, and they are done well, but are not imperative to the game being fun. i think the art style is great, but the gunplay is important in making the game fun. i think brink’s gameplay is fun, but it is not perfect. there are some obvious balance issues. so can i chose one over the other? not really. also, it’s hard to chose a single aspect anyway, since a game is truly enjoyable because of many aspects coming together. interesting thread though.

The nuance of Brink is really nice, like you don’t stop firing the very instant you’re knocked unconcious, and there can be double knock outs.

The camera is not always up right, and is sometimes angled depending on your interaction with the stage.

You can get knocked down, and have to be paying attention to stand back up.

3 things I’ve really wished shooters had, strangely enough.

its nice to have 2-3 songs i think they should have put a whole division on sound track cause it is too darn repetitive

Feel the same way, almost every game i have ever owned tends to have the music on mute after the first few weeks cause of the lack of menu and in game music. Always up for more music variety in and out of the game especially dynamic music to help amp up or down the situation.

The setting was my favorite aspect, I’m a sucker for Arcologies.

with all the bugs & stuff, my favourite aspect of brink is the command quit on consolle

I voted SMART as i like the deep movement aspect of the game.

There is also sliding and leaning which i absolutely missed in a lot of shooters nowadays, especially the leaning is so important to me.

would also like an option of “machine gun nest building and murdering” LOL i love me some MG nest butt kickin’

the leaning is definitely a nice touch! although, i wish you could move while you are leaning. sometimes it’s hard to judge how far out will lean from a wall and it would be nice to be able to inch out or back in a bit.

The buffing, because when combined with capturing control points it can really turn the game around, so it adds more dynamics to the game vs just the objectives alone.

My favorite aspect about Brink were the trailers and early gameplay footage.
