what's wrong with this shader?

i am trying to make high grass with foliage, why does this not work?

textures/temperate_sd/grass_path1
{
	q3map_baseShader textures/temperate_sd/grass_path1
         surfaceparm grasssteps
          surfaceparm landmine
	q3map_foliage models/foliage/grassfoliage1.md3 1.25 48 0.1 2
	q3map_foliage models/foliage/grassfoliage2.md3 1.1 48 0.1 2
	q3map_foliage models/foliage/grassfoliage3.md3 1 48 0.1 2
}

something wrong with the baseshader?
at least post it.

baseshader??? oops looks like there is more to learn here…

edit: i get this error when compiling:

RROR: PicoLoadModel: Failed loading model models/foliage/grassfoliage3.md3
ERROR: PicoLoadModel: Failed loading model models/foliage/grassfoliage2.md3
ERROR: PicoLoadModel: Failed loading model models/foliage/grassfoliage1.md3

is there any way to download all models?

You should be able to find the SD ones from somewhere here. Also there’s other available foliage models like low tris ones from Rayban. Obviously the compiler can’t find models that you don’t have.

well, atleast i fixed the fullpath problem in 1.4
:smiley:

(twt_thunder) #6

OMG! i really need the right models… this happend when i tried to put some other models with the right name…lol

(stealth6) #7

think they are here:
http://www.wolfmap.de/details.php?file_id=2328

loooks funny though :smiley:

(ailmanki) #8

looks very soft, unfortunate that et can’t render that like xreal can :confused:

(twt_thunder) #9

what’s XREAL?

(twt_thunder) #10

you wouldn’t belive…LOL

(twt_thunder) #11

anyhow i fixed it an easy way… i made a folder under models called folliage and downloaded the foliage models from wolfmap.de and putted them in the folder then used this shader:

textures/temperate_sd/grass_path1
{
	q3map_baseshader textures/radar/lmterrain2_foliage_base

	{
		map textures/temperate_sd/grass_path1.tga
		rgbgen identity
	}
	{
		lightmap $lightmap
		blendFunc GL_DST_COLOR GL_ZERO
		rgbgen identity
	}
}

so now it looks like this:

as you see much better… just one problem guess the fps gonna suck on this map:(

I guess you shouldn’t use to many of these foliage things ^^

hehe… but it looks cooooooool :smiley: :smiley: a way to get the “jungle look” at things… and as said before on this forum… don’t think there is a lot of people with 128RAM in the machine anymore… i think most of the pentium 100 is actually dead :cool::wink:

lol funny grass, I did the same thing once made a huge map with alot of that grass and people where hiding in the grass across the map, but because the grass is cut off after a certain distance they could easily be seen, but they thought they were well hidden :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

very funny for you but not for them lol
