Ok so one minute its 5 seconds the next minute i’m sitting for 30 seconds what the hell why is it not just one set spawn time of say 7 seconds ?
Whats up with the spawn loading time after death ?
There is a set spawn time. However, it isn’t like other FPS where you die and then come back in 5 seconds. The spawning in this game is in waves, meaning that every thirty seconds (maybe 25, I don’t remember?) everyone that had gotten killed spawns again. In your scenario, you just happened to have died either right before, or right after a wave. If you die right before a wave, you will see a relatively short spawn time. If you die right after a wave, you will be sitting there for almost the whole 25-30 seconds. Hope that helps.
The spawn timer is shown besides the round timer.
Putting your enemy on long spawn is integral to win maps. Push when they just spawned, try to die only when there is a low time on the counter.

ok ok but don’t you think it would be better if there was a set timer after death lets say 7 seconds ? or is that just me
In a team based FPS, spawnwaves make sense.
Having a spawntimer would remove incidental teamplay and pushes (pubs) and make concerted pushes impossible to time (competitive/ranked), along with making it harder to break spawncamps.
It’s probably not just you. Hell, it’s possible that you’re in the majority.
But most veterans will probably agree that waves are the way to have spawns.
@TheGamingPuma The reason for that is to ensure everyone who is dead spawns in at the same time. Dirty Bomb is highly focused around working together as a team. Spawning and dying together is all part of the bonding process. That’s how teamwork works. This is not TF2
I used to hate the idea of spawn waves too, but that was because I came from Quake where you can just insta spawn and get straight back into it.
You’ll slowly learn to adapt and appreciate it. Just try keep an eye on the spawn wave timer (it’s next to your in game clock) and make sure you’re never taking huge risks when it is on say 20 seconds remaining.

The special Dirty Bomb timer makes it a lot more unique than other games
You actually have to time your attacks and not just rush whenever you like, you can see the timer until the next reinforcements next to the round timer, if you are alone and have to push, do it when the timer is low. If your entire team wants to get the objective and you just threw an airstrike to damage the enemy, push right after the timer resets
Spawn timer varies depending on how many people are in the match. The highest it goes I believe is in 8v8 and is 29s or 30s
Ha this was cute. You should learn to use the spawntimer to your advantage. Make pushes when the timer gets low-ish and don’t be afraid to kill yourself to spawn up with your teammates for a coordinated push.
It’s not really about that, it’s about when to risk it.
One example being a group of enemies crowded around a med station. If you throw a mine on it and shoot it, you could kill them all, but that’s also very risky for you.
this one time i ran around while being shot at and nearly dying, spied the spawn wave timer and saw it was almost time, so i just K-ed out. fyi, if you K-out after taking damage, you arent hit by a score penalty, but at the same time, the guy shooting at you doesnt get the max score for killing you. nice little, barely-noticable f*ck you.

If the point is to take out the med station, you should really just throw it down and not shoot it, and instead run back to cover. You’ll still get several people who didn’t see you throw the mine down if it’s the only med station and you’re significantly less likely to die.

Thanks for being the way you are guys.[/quote]
when I saw his post my first thought was like…omg he is gonna get trashed. But I appreciate that people are not being dicks and kindly explained the mechanics.
