What's the max number of wall jumps you guys have done?

(hawkeyeguy99) #1

I’ve only been able to chain 4 in a row on Dome while messing around. It’s hard to find a place where you can chain many together at all. I’m interested if anyone has gotten more than 4 wall jumps chained in a row without touching the ground.

You can jump in this game???

I thought this was like doom where there is no jumping

Yea man have you seen those cancer monkeys jumping around with mines flying everywhere? I’m sure you’ll enjoy it when you experience it first hand.

Oh them? Yea I hate Imps, so annoying at first but I got used to dealing with them really quick.

Headshots for days.

3 times where you flank with trick jumps at Chapel 2nd phase Attacker to grab Mounted MG, shooting their defense line’s back.

(doxjq) #6

At least 6 or 7. When you go down to the second level on Underground, you can wall jump heaps off the wall to the right of the escalators.

(Jostabeere) #7

Believe 5-ish. In the small alley on Bridge which leads to the barrier generator.

Jumps and movement in DB could be some much better. First thing to get rid of is a penalty for sprinting with a primary weapon. The game needs one more walljump. Maps should be properly cleaned from invisible walls - if a jump is possible, I should be able to perform it. The freedom of movement in DB is illusionary - it’s like Super Mario. Plz compare with this game:

This is freedom

I’ve done 8. This guide really helped me longjump and make that possible http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=708873704

meh, its a different kind of game. I don’t want to play quake3 with medics, I want to play DB.

Positioning needs to matter, and so not all positions should be available from any location.

(Jostabeere) #12

That’s stupid imo. It’s jumping everywhere randomly for the sake of jumping everywhere randomly and not a well balanced gameplay-element of movement. I would not want this in DB, sorry. In a fun-mode melee only maybe, but not in the whole game. That would just break it.

ok now imagine that with a proxy nader or even A DAMN GOOD SNIPER i dont think that the movment are illusionary since if someone who play a lot of CS GO come to dirty bomb he wouldnt be able to guess the jump from the first glance or even get used to the general gameplay since there is a big difference in weapons recoil and in the movment cause in cs go jumping while shooting at someone is maybe the most stupid thing ever no ? but in DB that not cause always see a proxy/aura that keep moving and jumping everywhere with a shotgun even in a 1vs1
if we got the same kind of movments then the video that you showed fast merc would have a really big advantage compared to the slow one since they can jump everywhere nearly freely but slow merc wouldnt cause there speed would be a handicap to them

72

(Lord.Eblis) #15

That’s all you can do? Yesterday I chained jumps for like half an hour without touching the ground. It was a stopwatch round, I even wall jumped between round one and two! I was already jumping in the lobby!

You’re right :). I’d forgotten about different classes and stuff. Nevertheless, coming from Urban Terror, DB movement feels really limited. Invisible walls are really annoying and are indicative of a sloppy map design.

Hey Jostabeere “silly” or “unwise” sounds much better. Consider plz.

I’ll just continue to chuckle, while the responses come in

(Dr_Plantboss) #18

@rastablaster I do agree about the invisible walls thing is a few locations, such as the walkway on Chapel and that strange sliver of metal near the first objective…

But I don’t think it would be a good idea to have players like spiders, climbing up walls. It’s just… Bad.

@Runeforce That’s probably wiser than responding.

(Xyfurion) #19

Would be somewhere between 5 and 8. This would be in Underground and in Chapel
