What's the best way to support community-content?

The filesystem has broken a few times, forcing me to spend time trying to search errors and work out how to fix them and deleting my steam cache first for some reason and wading through 4387564654 post from the steam league telling everyone that steam doesn’t have any problems and any which it does have aren’t steam’s fault. Kinda the same as it always was.

I don’t mean that going this publishing route is risky: Of course it is, but I was in favour of SD trying this thing years ago.

The ‘AAA game’ as a concept is a pile of pap that can die in a fire.

What I mean is that any kind of management of custom content is risky, because there exist players who simply will not step out of that boundary. We need people like that to be trying new stuff if custom content is going to survive, and I can’t think of a way to convince them to do so when that boundary exists at all.

I’m kinda hoping that I’m being overly cynical.
