While its understandable that some downtime between objectives to tell the players their side of the story similar to Brink would somewhat affect the gameplay and the game doesn’t have a source material to follow like Wolfenstein or Quake, what would be the plot, who are our mysterious benefactors and announcer? Why are they funding the mercs with limitless supplies of advanced medical equipment, grenades and even airplanes ready to do bombing runs, artillery cannons ready to rain down on someone’s call, and give someone access to an orbital death laser?
Who are CDA and why are they hated?
Are the attackers meant to be seen as the evil side since they’re heisting data cores and drug samples and through the process doing obscene amounts of property damage and for some same reason their EMP charges demolish a building while the defenders are simply being paid to make sure the transactions clear out?
My take would be that each side is given false information, similar to Brink; take Bridge for example, the attackers could just be trying to take the drug sample, believing that the defenders are making s virus to unleash over the rest of England while the defenders believe the attackers are trying to steal their cure in the making to help those affected by the dirty bomb, as for factions I believe the defenders are meant to be CDA agents while attackers anti-CDA as the tutorial’s announcer says they took over since the CDA left the station and wasn’t in use, there could also be that both attackers and defenders are two different PMCs while the CDA were trying to help the evacuation in London although with martial law and our two groups are mostly using equipment the CDA left behind in the process of the evacuation suggesting by the CDA Logo/skulls and “CDA are Killers” tags left around. Sooo what are your takes on the games possible plot/story besides “woohoo money!!!”
