king, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as far as I know, Brink won’t even have sniper rifles. I’ve no doubt that there will be many awesome things to do :cool:, but sniping won’t be one of them. :frowning:

Btw, on the whole I want to see new guns thing… why is that? In most games guns are the exact same few with different stats.

The only stats about guns that seem to change are recoil, damage, rate of fire, range, clip, range, reload time, and that’s about it (aside from mobility which is hard to add in games besides run speed)

Snipers have the least realistic mobility because you can check your corners easily with them (despite the fact that they are 4-5+ feet long), but why do I care.

Personally I hope they showcase new info (classes, abilities, attachments, maps, the S.M.A.R.T. system), guns get old after a while.

I’m sure it will result in another ‘toka loves his rainbow’ tag but if you want to see weapons done right, take your cues from Raven Shield. Naturally Brink could use less emphasis on guns and take more archetypical weapons and less choices.

I would like to see all custom additions to weapons come with drawbacks though. A gun that isn’t weighed down by a myriad of trinkets should fire the smoothest otherwise there would be no point in not loading up on all the customisations.

High capacity magazines should make the gun less accurate, silencers should lower the range and scopes should give the unscoped less recovery time (time for spread to fall back).

I know it probably doesn’t resemble reality but this is just for the sake of balancing weapon choices.

And I agree with what you are saying. Personally, I don’t think anyone should hold a player from having all possible attachments on a gun, just make it so each attachment (since it is unlocked) is slightly worse than the basal but better for a certain play style.

[edit:] aside from sound, what’s the point of a silencer if there’s no mini-map? Muzzle flash reduction? (because muzzle flash is obnoxiously big) Also the UAV (operative’s interrogate) overcomes the stealth aspect.

Also do enemies know if their teammates have been interrogated? (via a voice from the AI commander etc)
