What will they think of next?

Well myself and Shuster (Madmaximus) had this neat idea for a Coca Cola Bell sign in our map, and we thought it was really cool. Then I got the idea, hell, where would a sign be without a working machine?

So Shuster got down to it and whipped up this little guy, then I tossed it in the map and voila! A Lang Cola machine. I set it up as a health/ammo station, it gives both. It’s got a nice little refridgerator pur, and you can see through the glass inside, the cans are lit up.

Too funny! And you think that’s funny, just wait til you get a look at our final objective sequence. I will refrain from ruining the surprise for you all. So, have you had a Lang Cola yet? :drink:

Map thread can be found here.

LOL Very good. Its things like this that really make maps, an original play on an existing game system. Look forward to seeing the final surprise.

Funny idea.
Little suggestion:
A snack “machine” (sorry don’t know the english term) in addition would be great.
Cola for health.
And snacks for ammo.
Or vice versa.

Hmm, you should always have 5 cent in your pockets.
Could save your live.

EDIT:
And may be a new CM-marker would be great.

Lol

I’m movin’ house in 2 weeks and I want to order one of those for my ET pad on the top floor. You put it on ebay yet?

Is that a .md3 model? Looks nice! I wish I knew how to make those models.
I can do flat stuff, like a box, and skin them (in 3DSmax) but curved stuff - no way.
Back to topic: Amazing coke-machine! Great job!

Sweet Looking… maybe you should make a German Beer one for the Axis tho? Hoegarden / Leffe

coke is nice, but…

…I WANT LARGER!!!

(joop sloop) #8

FYI hoegaarden and leffe aren’t geman beers! hoegaarden and leffe are belgian

Can I be critical and say it looks to bright. The Axis medic is really dark yet this has a sort of inner glow. Pretty cool though. hey, did it cost that much back then?

(MadMaximus) #10

yeah loffy, its an md3, as low poly as i could make it while keeping in mind it had to look ‘vintage’. i searched the web for vintage pop machines and sort of designed this one from a composite of a few dated from the late 30’s to the early 50’s.

you would have to see it in map schaffer, to see how the lighting on it looks, screenshots don’t really do justice to things i noticed. here is a few different views and lighting while i was testing the model. ( pics gamma enhanced of course )

and im not shure how much drinks cost in the mid 40’s, but i remember buying coke in a bottle for 25 cents back in 73’ … so 5 cents should be close. :drink:

very good man!

Sort of a joke Max. Looks really cool. In the later shots the lighting loks fine except for th lower left sort of looks like a UV light is on it

Everytime I look I just have to laugh :blah: (Sorry but that’s as close to a laugh as I could work find)

Make the inside of it into a playable map!

Amazing work, gotta have my Cola.
