@grandioseCutlet - great post, striking right at the heart of the issue!
They could always make these “cycles” insanely grindy and cost a **** ton of credits.

My guess is that later down the line it will be revealed that everything* will also be purchasable with cash. Which is fine, as long as in-game currency prices are reasonable.
(*) maybe not everything. Another guess of mine is that the culprit case will be the only not purchasable thing.
Mark my words!
Once they’ll eventually implement trading into the game, I would imagine the event cards will be able to be traded, they don’t feel that bound to you at least as obsidian cards. Plus they are handling it well for an F2P.

I think they’re having a hard time here, at least now everyone who wants to get the case will definitely get SOMETHING.
So let me get this straight. The case will be acquired with in-game currency. Exactly one per account. No money for SD/Nexon. There are 2 options:
- a single random card with a high chance of getting a crap loadout = a large part of the playerbase is unhappy
- a skin that can be applied to any loadout = everyone is happy
Are you seriously arguing that option 1 is OK?
Oh really?
So 1v1 me m8 with:
- default Sparks vs 383
- lead M62 Fragger vs Bronze+ M62 Fragger

I didn’t get anything on the containment war event, and I don’t mind. I got a bad dickens card, but I don’t mind. If I’ll get a cruddy culprit card I’ll never use, I don’t mind. I don’t even use my only cobalt and most of my gold because they are bad cards, but I don’t caaaaare. They are just skins. So yes there is point other than pissing people off, giving them (probably) cool skins
I guess everything is fine if you do not care about it
