What should Thunder's concussion do?

(Gh0st1e) #1

With out fail, in every Thunder thread that I see someone complains about the sensitivity change effect his concussion had but never offers a substitute for what his concussion should do.

Let’s hear some ideas for what his concussion should do instead of complaining about what it did. All ideas cannot include sensitivity reduction, let’s not turn this into a bickering match on whether it was right or wrong.

I have 2 ideas…

Idea 1:
-severe movement speed reduction
-full blind
-weapons and abilities can still be used

This option effectively immobilizes enemies but allows them to still return fire or “spray and pray.”

Idea 2:
-moderate movement speed reduction
-all weapons and abilities are disabled
-keep current visual effects for concussion

This option is less crippling to mobility, allowing escape, but at the cost of not being able to fight until concussion wears off.

Let’s discuss and get some other ideas in here.

Actually concuss people?

  • movement stun
  • no jump/sprint
  • blurry vision
  • turn-speed limitation?

The way it was originally was fine (minus bugs), plebs just had to have to whine and complain about it and now the concs have been nerfed into oblivion. The conc nades NEEDED to be crazy good so thunder could compete with fragger. People complained that they couldnt fight back if they were concussed but no one complains that they cant fight back against a cooked fragger nade. I do think what @derpypenguinz19 suggested would do the trick but then people are still going to scull glasses of whine.

I don’t think a “turn speed limitation” would really be distinguishable from reducing sensitivity. People would still complain about that.

The rest works fine but I think it needs a little more to really be punishing because otherwise there isn’t any real advantage to playing Thunder over Fragger.

It’s not really a “nerf” because it isn’t permanent. It sucks right now because he is pretty useless but these changes were made in order to fix a lot of the bugs involved. People complain about the sensitivity reduction (which can be countered easily with a DPI switch anyways) so when Thunder gets “de-nerfed” the sens reduction may not return.

I could see his conc nade still be made to compete with Fragger’s nade without reducing the sensitivity.
