At the moment answers cant really be drawn from what you’re saying…

Do you wish to play the game that looks a lot better in terms of quality?

Do you wish to play the game on high fps?

There’s a large difference between playing on low and maximum, It all depends on which side you prefer, personally its quality for me.

It’d also help if you could post system specs to see where your pc could optimally fit for quality and fps

To get an idea, the dirty bomb video options do have certain presets such as low, medium high and maximum already, so try a few matches on each and see which is preferable to you

also a side note: Most of the video options are specific to the unreal engine, so usually googling some of the options will usually come up with a good definition of what it does

set it to the best setting :stuck_out_tongue:

you can start the tutorial and try out different video options and settings without having to enter a game, notice how different settings affect both visuals and fps

If you want best visuals setting everything on high / on, outside of motionblur and ambient occlusion, is obviously the way to go.

If you want MOAH FPS everything on low/off except one frame lag, is the way to go (aswell as looking into potato configs).

Outside of those two extremes.

High quality material is propably the one single option that turns the game from meeh to nice. It adds bumpmap/normalmaps to the game aswell as better reflection (propably PBR materials). However its also one of the more costly options.

Higher world details and static decals are also very costly but increase the fidelity of the map by quite a margin, especialy static decals will add tons of signs billboards gunshot holes and similar stuff to the maps.

the lighmap options will further improve the look of the highquality material aswell as dynamic lightning but its rather subtile.

Dynamic shadows ads playershadows both on your weapon aswell as other players/dynamic objects. It eats some performance but IMO grounds the players, also in some maps shadows bleed through ceilings so you get a bit intel on player position.

bloom, lightshafts, depth of field, post procession
To be honest those are more personal taste they do have visual impact but don’t cost that much, atleast on my PC.

Depth of field seems to be not working or is very subtile compared to what other games pull.

My personal tip try lightshafts they have almost zero performance impact but elevate atleast chapel and trainyard to the next level.
