I joined a match where the first 4 players were obviously farming points for credits and humbugs. Other than just shooting them, is there anything else I should do?
What should I do when coming across people farming?
Farming points for humbugs? Humbugs are earned from time spent in game aren’t they? So it makes no difference.
But yeah farming is against the rules, apparently. I’m not sure if they actually state it anywhere though (but imo they should). I’ve reported farmers before, and when I tell people farming isn’t allowed they laugh at me and think I’m kidding - Apparently most people don’t think it’s a problem.
Even the smallest Christmas event brings out the best in everyone
Some of the pub games I played today were full of afk players, I’ve never seen a higher turn over of players in a single match. I’d assume a lot of them were farming the Humbugs.
@Dox I didn’t read much on how to get humbugs. All I know is I gotta play xD.
Thanks for the clarification everyone.

Actually they said in this weeks dev video (taken down temporarily due to some visual glitches) humbugs are earned as a fraction of non booster or mission credits. (3/10 I think)

Actually, in the same video they pretty much simply put announced its 20% of your credit earn rate excluding boosters, missions and daily bonuses.
So basically its 20% of your basic credit earn rate, which is 12credits/min as far as I recall. So lenght of the match matters the most. Also your placement on the scoreboard (not the score itself, mind you) and winning/losing affects it a tiny wee bit amount. So yeah, sadly farming will work in getting humbugs, no it should not be tolerated, yes these thumbsuckers should be salted with as much lead as you can possibly dish out. Hell, if you join a server like that go full on rambo, reconnect even to pick most cancerous mercs on your possession into your squad if you don’t have it already.

Miss-remebered the number, thanks for correction.
They also confirmed this on reddit- https://www.reddit.com/r/Dirtybomb/comments/5ieci7/do_credit_boosters_also_boost_the_amount_of/db81pup/
and in that comment the dev linked another reddit comment that explains credit earning- https://www.reddit.com/r/Dirtybomb/comments/4v1wm5/what_are_summer/d5vozul/
which basically says base 12/min with a 10/30% bonus for loss/win and 0-20% bonus based on overall score rank in server (0% for bottom scorer, 10% the most middle player, 20% top). Also in the same thread as linked comment he says the one thing in place to stop some farming credit-earning wise is earn rate penalties for games below 10 players, greater penalties for fewer players.
Farming doesn’t give you more candy. Since the amount of candies you get is 20% of the base fee and the amount of credits you earn doesn’t increase by score. Only by your placement in the leaderboard (if you’re topscore with 50,000 points and if you’re topscore with 10,000 points you get the same amount of credit bonus).
What would I do? It depends: If they were 2v2 and were just waiting for players then I will do nothing. But if they are griefing in order to farm points I will report them
Is that the new word for using unfair advantage? It now mandates a “report this player action”?

I’m not going put words into Frosty’s mouth, but usually griefing involves gameplay that is harassing or negatively affecting another player’s gaming experience (intentionally).
