RtCW and ET (Also RtCW > ET

Other games have not even been close to these so far.

I voted with ETQW because I spend most of my time there. I started with CS:S, went then to ETQW and from ETQW I never really went away. I added Battlefield 3. I tried CoD but never really liked it.
Best = RTCW by a mile. Although I also liked ET at the time it now seems to me like a poor relation in comparison.
ET:QW I lasted a couple of weeks, terrible game.
Some of my ET friends stuck with ET:QW and then moved to BF2, but I went to DOD (Day of Defeat) and in number of hours played I’ve spent more time in DOD than all other games put together.
I’ve also had a couple of forays into UrT (Urban Terror), played it competitively in CB and other leagues.
Spent about 6 months playing BF3 every day, with some of my old ET mates who’d gone BF2 -> BF3 while I was off playing DOD and UrT. They’re still playing BF3 and plan to move to BF4 later this year, but I’m hoping to drag some of them into DB if it all pans out.
I’ve bought and briefly played most of the COD’s along the way, my old DOD clan even tried to get going in COD:BO, which was quite a nice game tbh, and quite liked CS:S when it was released, and CS:GO, but RTCW will always be king for me, because of all the things objective / class-based game play represents, RTCW simply did it best. Every other game since is just a copy, and has lost something along the way by trying to be different.
I’ve played all the games on that list and loads more. I even ventured into other genres since FPS was becoming pretty bland. (I only play MP games though. Playing against bots is boring)
I voted for W:ET since that’s the game I’ve played the most (almost 3000 hours according to xfire :o). It’s the only game I’ve kept playing regularly. Even now I enjoy playing on the etrun mod and try to help out mappers.
QuakeWorld DM -> QuakeWorld TF -> RTCW -> W:ET -> ETQW -> (Brink)
Voted ETQW as last thing played. Hard to decide which game I liked most, probably QuakeWorld TF and ETQW.
However the best comp and clan experience was W:ET for me, no doubt.
You should try Mechwarrior Online. I bought a founder pack, it’s a very good game (but not really a FPS).
Hey,
There are a lot of elements of the recent Closed Alpha Survey that we don’t want to share with you folks, simply because we don’t want the knowledge of those results to skew the feedback given to future surveys. However, one thing I can share with you is your responses to the question of what other FPS games you’ve played.
We asked you what other FPS games you had played in the past. You were allowed to tick as many as you wanted. This chart shows the percentage of respondents that had played each title. We had just shy of 400 people reply to the survey.
Only thing that really surprises me here is how far below Blacklight ranksB[/B]. That and my assumption, that really every last fps guy would’ve played Doom(even if not the entire series).
B[/B] the F2P model is a bit sucky, but after all a more than decent fps game. Didn’t played it very long though, since I got the DB invitation only a few weeks after I tried BR for the first time; same goes for Natural Selection 2.
As for where I’m coming from, here is the exact list of games I’ve played on a regular/obsessive basis after I’ve bought my first complete(system-builder) PC, anno 2004; and after various hardware updates and completely new set-ups.
The *marked games are mostly MP FPS games I’ve played for months and years(not all of them though, some of them are RPGs, or flight sims). The rest are mostly SP games I’ve played through, once, twice, or haven’t completed yet.
I know, that the list is quite excessive, but it’s fun to go through all the stuff I’ve played over the last 10 years, or so.
Operation Air Assault 2
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
*Microsoft Flight Simulator 9
Doom 3
Half Life 2
*Counter Strike Source
Star Wars: Battlefront
Battlefield 2
Lock On
*Falcon 4.0: AF
*America’s Army 2
*Armed Assault
X3: Reunion
*Microsoft Flight Simulator X
*Armed Assault 2
Rogue Trooper
Dead Space
Avatar
*Aliens vs Predator 3
*Brink
X3: Superbox
*DCS: A-10C
*Mass Effect
Dead Space 2
Rage
Alan Wake
Quake 4
*Borderlands
Mass Effect 2
Blacklight Retribution
Natural Selection 2
*Dirty Bomb
Aliens Colonial Marines(I’ll prolly never finish this crap game)
The Last of Us
Stuff on my shelve I want to play, but haven’t found the time for yet(mostly RPG stuff; they take so damn long and since I’m a completionist I almost don’t dare to install them
)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
L.A. Noire GOTY
Fallout 3 GOTY
Fallout 3: Vegas GOTY
Mass Effect 3
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare
Bioshock 1+2 bundle
Borderlands 2
Killzone 3
I wish SD made smth futuristic like Mass Effect series but SD orients exclusively on multiplayer
Ed Stern could make an awesome story, I’m sure…

But Brink was futuristic and DB is also set (a bit) in the future. Real SP, or even SP RPG games are extremely expensive, only a few studios have the required resources for something like that and most of them have a publisher that pumps in the money. I don’t think it’s remotely possible for an independent dev to produce something like ME. They could provide a potential MP for something like that though; just like the’ve done it with B:AO. That’d be great and I’d be the first one to pre-order such a game, just like I did it with B:AO.
UT99 (duel) —> ET —> ETQW
They were the main ones, but the ones I played on and off:
*Red Alert II
*Age of Empires II
*Age of Mythology
*Civilization III
*Company of Heroes
*COD4
HL1DM → CS 1.3-1.5 → COD1 → COD2 → COD4 → TF2 → MW2 → TF2 → DB
COD1 & 2 are definately what I’ve played most over the years.

You can expect those graphs to probably change a lot once OBT hits. I hope that you guys run a good marketing campaign for DB ofc.
Most fun and playtime and voted for: ET:QW
much playtime and fun in: CS, TF,
and I also played all other games in the list for more or less time but the 3 above are my most loved and most played games
RTCW is still the daddy - sunk an obscene amount of time into that both on pubs and competitively. Then ET with an equally obscene amount of time. Didn’t get on with Quake Wars. I played a good amount of CS and Team Fortress too (and, in desperate times, have been known to play CoD. And feel dirty afterwards!). Dabbled in Quake, Unreal, HL, Action Quake etc over the years. And BC/BF. I’d pay full price for RTCW again!
