What mouse are you using or would recommend ?

I’m using a Steelseries Rival. It’s a pretty big mouse but it offers unparalleled customisation through its “Steelseries Engine” software. Great build quality as well.

It’s a bit pricey however.

I am still using my 10 year old Logitech mx 518 and it still hasn’t failed me.

(Gung-ho) #23

I’ve changed from a Zowie AM to a Logitech G502 which is the best mouse I’ve ever used. I run it at 1600 dpi but turn my mouse send down (I think it’s 4.5 in game).

I’ve heard that the R.A.T mouses feel bad in the hand.
I’m not one to confirm, since i’ve never used a R.A.T

(yusayu) #28

Go to your nearest hardware shop, try some out. The important thing is it lays nicely in your hand and fits, size-wise.
DPI says nothing, it’s (at least from a technical standpoint) nothing more than a multiplier. Can do that with the sensitivity from your driver anyways.

(sensit1ve_) #29

I use the G402@400 CPI. At last it’s personal Preference. It should fit your Hand and have a decent sensor.

(Amerika) #30

There are a lot of good mice to choose from really. I honestly think it boils down to fitting your hand and grip style the best more than anything else. I’m fairly certain the mouse I use is nothing special in regards to how well it tracks compared to anything else. It just fits my giant ass basketball palming manhands perfectly.

I used a R.A.T 5 for a long time and loved it, and I have medium hands. One of my friends also used one for a long time and also really liked it, neither of us had any complaints about comfort.

I actually use the R.A.T. M.M.O. 7 at work because I got the Corsair M65 for home, and the only thing I don’t like about the M.M.O. 7 is that I sometimes press the thumb buttons when not meaning to, which is one of the reasons I got the M65.

105 eur here in the stores, good mouse but op.

(torsoreaper) #34

Depends on your grip. If you have a fingertip grip I think G502 is your best bet right now. If you have a meatpaw grip you can do like a G700 or G602. I’m really only familiar with logitechs because a lot of the other products were either missing things in their drivers or because they weren’t suitable to my fingertip grip.

(qjack) #35

Steelseries Sensai Raw Orange - using and recommending

fair price, goog feeling, medium quality.

(SiegeFace) #36

Can’t you just turn sensitivity up ingame?

400dpi is fine, i think…i use 3200 xD but with a dpi switch of 400 for aim.

At the moment I am using CMStorm (Coolermaster basically) REAPER mouse. It’s pretty good for my small yet fat hand.

(Supa) #37

I know it seems you are interested in higher DPI mice but I highly recommend the Zowie EC1-A, as I use 400 DPI. It is an excellent right-hand mouse.

I must ask though, why are you getting a new mouse if it is still serving you well? Come to think of it, I believe 400 DPI is what most competitive FPS players use so I don’t see why one would want anything higher. Then again, nothing wrong with a change now and again

Best of luck in your search!

(Matuno) #38

I’ve always been with Logitech with the two different G5 mice and now the G502 Proteus core. It’s just a matter of what you’re accustomed to. A geeky friend made me try his R.A.T. which I really didn’t like, but that again comes down to what you’re used to.

Also, high DPS isn’t useful anymore, I never go beyond 2000 DPI anyway. It’s all about how it fits into your hand and the extra buttons it gives.

(FalC_16) #39

Microsoft Intelliexplorer 3.0 master race …yeah shame they don’t sell them anymore…mine just died and I bought Razer Deathadder chrome. Besides the lights I don’t think its worth 80 EURos…

Here are the things you want to look for when deciding on a mouse.

  1. The sensor - does it add any acceleration either negative or positive. Also does it have prediction (you want the answer to be a big NO to all 3)
  2. The size and shape relative to your hand size and mouse grip
  3. How the buttons and scroll wheel feel and respond
  4. The weight of the mouse and lift off distance
  5. The software quality and options (I prefer no software at all)

I also like to know the native DPI of the sensor because it tracks better at the native dpi, instead of one using Interpolation. For example the Zowie FK1 uses the 3310 sensor which supports native dpi increases in increments of 50 up to 5000 dpi.

Stuff like the amount of buttons shouldn’t affect your purchase if you’re asking for a quality mouse unless it already meets your ideals from the above list. If this was anything but an FPS I would say go for the buttons. But it’s an fps so consistency and muscle memory is a major part of good aim.
