What kind of multiplayer?

This has probably been discussed/asked a million times but apparently I suck at using the search function. Anyhow…

I was wondering what kind of game the multiplayer will be, CTF/TDM Quake style? Or something like RTCW & RTCW:ET with objectives to complete/destroy in a given time?

I’m basically looking for any kind of info/link regarding how’s the multiplayer gonna be

Thanks in advance!

Pretty much like ET. You have the basic objectives-based mode with different variants like stopwatch, campaign and freeplay.

I see, thank you!

Currently reviewing videos and different articles about Brink. No sniper or “panzer-lamer” though? Apparently no fight in big open air areas.

Edit- 8v8? That’s a lot of people, I was hoping for some 4v4/5v5, much easier to coordinate, ingame as much as offline as a group of people playing together.

feel free to play with as few people as you like

Yeah but as a FPS vet I want to play with people I know, with vocal server etc, even if we’re too old to kick ass anymore we just cant be arsed dealing with public servers, random lamers etc. Thing is, it’s much easier to get people for such purpose if its 4-6 players/team instead of 8.

Is it sort of official the MP mode is gonna be 8v8?

As far as i know it will ALWAYS be 8v8. Because any slots not taken up by a player gets filled by a bot.

play with as few people you want, and let bots fill in, or just turn off bots and play 4 x 4

Ahh excellent Nail i didnt know you could disable bots! I’ve learned more from your one sentence there than i have the past 2 hours studyin biochemistry.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Let’s hope the future ladders/cup/whatever games will be 4v4 then. Doubtful though, given the amount of different classes.

4 v 4, 5 v 5, 6 v 6, whatever you want, it’s a 16 slot server, play the game you like

Wasn’t there a time when PC games always did this and it wasn’t a mysterious great bonus feature?

(Nail) #12

still exists in games I play

As I said earlier, I haven’t come across any games (that I’ve played) where you can’t choose how many players per team. It’s either a Server variable, or a plugin that allows changes.
