Martyrdom. Heh. Yeah, it’s been one of Nader’s defining features for the longest time. But then, opinions of it have been all over the place. What do you think of it?
What is your stance on Martyrdom?
All it really offers is a tool for momentary zoning. Her nades more than make up for it’s uselessness.
It was previously used against Phantom when he was released.
Both of them are now nerfed beyond their effective use.
I like to chain longjump onto aura nests while spamming nades, finishing my perfomance off with a spectacular firework launch, which usually gibs 1-2 people
As long as people don’t just Martyr everytime I’m coming near them with defibs on my hand that is
It’s useful, but it really depends. A lot of experienced players can easily avoid it, but just like mines, even they get caught occasionally too.
It’s also easy to use poorly, blowing up before being revived or killing a teammate in ranked, but I’d rather have it than not.
It’s a useful ability if timed correctly, but if nader didn’t have martyr I think she still would be effective.
Nothing can make me laugh like the “instances” as a medic tries to revive my sorry arse as I intentionally martyr as soon as he zaps me to revive me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
E: Yeah I get kicked a lot :^)
10/10 fun and a pretty good zoning tool if you die in an awkward spot for the enemy. Easy to avoid, almost always your fault if you get hit by it.

YOU
Is it bad when 65% of votes say its fun to explode yourself?
Meh. Don’t expect to be able to trap good players with it. However you can use it dissuasively if you manage to die at the right spot.

I can’t exactly call it useless, but it’s pretty close. I can’t even recall the last time I died to it. And if a Nader gets downed in doorway, it’s just a couple of taps to the head before the coast is clear.
In my personal experience from the time when I still mained her, and played her more regularly, if you are good at keeping track of the flow of ongoing fights and can manage to die in good positions your martyrdom can still net kills or at least do decent damage to the other team. Typically I’ve found maps with tons of blind corners and enclosed hallways work heavily to her benefit on that regard (examples being several segments of underground) which allows you to at the least either force a brief retreat or do some token damage to an incoming push if you die in the proper spots.
While you may not get kills with it nearly as often softening players attempting to push up is not something that should be disregarded as undoing the damage means expendature of resourse doing so (either time or health packs/stations which means fewer available to them in the upcoming push attempt). This especially is a factor that in practice can over time screw with a teams momentum as they begin to slow their progress expending time on undoing the damage done or pulling back to avoid it (even if only a few seconds in a game like this it still counts).
This has to be the only game, where I didn’t rage at someone using it. Since I know what to expect, when someone plays Nader.
In other online shooters I’ve experienced though…
I got a triple kill in a pug a year ago with it, all enemy players too. :’)

100% agree, one of the few games I don’t mind a last-stand or blowing up ability existing in it.
I frequently put the nades and guns away as they approach empty or the wave timer does to charge forward with her and intentionally get killed in advantage zones, killing or destroying everything in it.
Experienced players also wary killing a Nader that’s too close, so I will constantly play in people’s faces and super aggressively with her. Similar to how I play Phoenix but with eggs of death!
