What is your reason for mod making?

I am learning C and another for MDS converter now, and I have got the headache about the pointers
So I just thought this for me…why am I trying modding?
Why? Yes, that is so simple. I want ET to be more fun. just it.
I think ET is good filed to try modding for first timer( me ), because of lots of official supports and tools and commuinities.
And ET is free… These are reasons why I was attracted and I would say thanks them.
So I wonder what could be others’s reason for modding. the same as mine? or else? I would like to listen your reson! :???:

BTW, Some are pro-skilled, some got jobs about modding(Splash Damage as well?)… they are insane for modding :blah:

My job is project leader for operating system level storage management facilities and database interfaces. All we do is write, test and support code; has been that way for many years. If we are doing our jobs right, everything we create is invisible and goes entirely unnoticed. The only time anyone is aware of what we have done is when there is a problem.

I started mapping and doing texture art for Blood and Q1, because it let me actually see something I had created and worked on. I started doing other forms of game modding for the same reason. I tell people I wrote most of the host-to-host and host-to-atm communications software you use to get money out of your ATM machines and it barely gets a response. But, I show people game mods I’ve done or levels I’ve designed and they are highly impressed. So, I guess it was a form of artistic expression I don’t get to show in my regular job.

Now, I do it because there are games I want to create that nobody else is doing.

our reason? boredom, and wanting to create the most realistic ww2 shooter out there, while introducing a whole new mode of gameplay that’s never been seen before, but we think it will kick arse
