what is your accuracy?
This is an interesting discussion.
Professional gamers get about 80% accuracy and also have better game sense to make better use of their lives, so accuracy is not the only factor, but that said % of accuracy does makes a HUGH difference. Mine is between 40 and 50% depending on the weapon, but if I run into someone with consistent 55% I will loose 9 out of ten times. As you play against more seasoned players with higher %, you lose not only because of their higher accuracy, but because they always headline (keeping shoulder up aim even when no enemy is present). More accuracy + more headlining + more game sense = more win.
Not sure if troll or not.

80%? What game / type of gun / where are these stats located? Quake Live is one of the most aim heavy games to ever exist and I can safely say the best players in the world only hit 46-50% on a really good day on lan with tracking weapons like the lightning gun.

Unless you’re talking about single shot snipers, then I could believe that maybe, but there is no way in hell anyone on this planet hits 80% with some kind of tracking weapon in a fast paced game like Dirty Bomb.

(Rawr) #42

I’m at 39.9%. SOOO CLOSE

(enigmaplatypus) #43

a little less than 20% long story short a lot of mistakes where made; mainly blishlok, sensitivity, first fps game, etc XD

(FalC_16) #44

everybody is like 35+ wth.

I’m at 33 %. Yeah I do a lot of pre-firing etc.

(Atherel) #45

Rifles and SMGs are at about 35% but I often do “curtain fire” to stop enemies from coming out of cover. Sniper Rifles are at ~55%.

(Captain_Forward) #46

Mediocre.

(Mortylen) #47

I am in between 27 and 35, depending on gun of choice (not taking into acount sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols). I prefire a lot and ocasionaly friendly fire our shitty snipers though.

(Yoma) #48

Im too much of a preemptive shooter who fires on the ground to cover teammates so rip accuracy… .

By the way, does anyone know how it is count if you hit an teammate and with shotguns? Is a shot againt an teammate (not ranked so no damage) count as hit and do you only need to hit 1 bullet of the x bullets of a shotgun so it does count as hit?(Or 50%+?)

PS:My knife accuracy aint good, too much random air stabbing… .

Check out some of the top CSGO players who are hitting high 70 low 80%.
Your right though, the game really does matter when talking about max %. With DB’s high movement speed, wall jumps ETC you cant really expect to see over 50 - 60 % max with spray’s.
As far as Q3A (Quake Live now) I used to play competitive Q3A when it first came out and kids were way better then, not really like it used to be.
Not saying everyone can make it to the top % accuracy for a game either, just do the best you can. Those who have crazy high accuracy are talented AND play like its a job…

(doxjq) #50

To be fair I don’t play CS so I have no idea what a typical pro players accuracy is like on that game, so fair enough. I thought you were talking about just games in general lol. But any way, Dirty Bomb aim is very similar to Quake aim, so you won’t see anyone hitting that high. 45-50% will be the absolute highest a legit account will hold I reckon for full auto tracking rifles in Dirty Bomb from a legit account (by legit account I mean someone who has had their Dirty Bomb account since they started playing, not someone who got good and then made a new account - those will obviously hold a higher accuracy as they aren’t playing catch up from when they had noob aim in their beginning hours). The top Quake players in the world are the same Quake players who were around in Quake3 though. It’s been the same top 10 for many years now minus a few like Fatality etc. Cypher, Rapha, Cooller, Toxjq etc, they’re all still there, and Cypher/Evil are about as good as aim can get, which generally speaking is still under or around 50% for LG.

Tbh aim doesn’t mean much any way. Pro players aren’t even known for their aim like you say. Most of it is game smarts. Rapha has won more titles than anyone and he is probably the least aim heavy Quake player out of all of the pros. Just incredibly smart. There’s plenty of freak pub scrubs in almost every FPS game can hit just as good if not better accuracy than pro players though tbh, who unfortunately only play the game for fun with no intention of going pro.

(RobLovesNa) #51

Well said. Just like in any sport you can find AMAZING casual players who prioritize other things in life.

(Elvisz) #52

this thread made me realize how bad my aiming is… okay i waste ammo too like crazy on things that blow up, or move but still… i’m a drunk potato :frowning:
I should stop drinking while i play :< and the grenade launcher statistic is not working either, i had a few thousand kill with it

(Freezer_Boss) #53

I’m sure @Amerika is over 9000

([ *O.C.B.* ] Wildcard) #54

Technically it’s 28.9%, and bouncing around from that and low 29’ish percents, but eh closest one out of the listed options (still working on it though).

(Amerika) #55

Only when I’ve been drinking. And then only in my head

(LifeupOmega) #56

Mfw I’m now above 40% and can’t revote.

(radionaut) #57

i’ve been gradually lowering my mouse sensitivity over the last few weeks and my overall accuracy is currently 40.6% and slowly climbing.

settings for anyone who’s interested:
1080p @ 144Hz
G400s 800 dpi @ 125Hz
4.4 in game sens

it’s a hair under 10" to do a 180° degree turn

That’s so slow. I used to use the same, but not in a game with no acceleration. Originally on Quake Live I was using like 50cm/360 but that was with acceleration. I slowly increased my sens over the years though and in Dirty Bomb I am using nearly the same sens as you (4.0), but 1800dpi haha. I think it works out to be like 20-22cm/360, I never really calculated it properly.

(radionaut) #59

forgot to mention my FOV setting is currently at 92 (up from around 70 something last week). Dox, i did test smoothing out for a bit & it didn’t seem to have much affect. you think i should give it another try?

but yeah, i mainly play NS2 and have a much higher sens in that game. it’s agile/airborne alien lifeforms can be so blinding fast that anything else (most dirty bomb mercs for example) feels like it’s moving at turtle speed in comparison : )

(Shirobon) #60

Average is at 32.5% But I do tend to swing my melee a lot at random stuff. Rifles float 30%. Sniper at 55%. Interestingly my most accurate weapon is the katana at 70%.
