I hope there is something regarding teambalance in the patch notes of the next update.
What is this
That looks like the most balanced match I’ve seen in weeks.
Just the last game I played the highest on our team was 3000xp and the other team had 9000
high levels stacking up in one team while the opposite team changes twice before the match ends… rage quitting is real in DB as well

Ooooh, thanks, I was trying to saturate the blue and red, that’s why I couldn’t see it!
Every single person on that screen over lvl20 should stay on min10 servers, there the balance issues go. But stacking and/or stomping lowlevels is just too fun, right?
Heck I go in queue for 10 minutes just to get a more balanced game, it’s beneficial to my fun and overall balance.

There are servers for lvl 5 max, there are servers for lvl 10 min. And there are servers for everyone. Some people play with friends that don’t have the lvl 10. Some other people want to learn and not being force to be at the kid table.
Strangely enough, the biggest stomps/salty games I have ever experienced were on Min 10 servers.
I do get angry at new players sometimes (my bad) but it’s also where you get some good laughs about their poor decision making as well.
Min level 10 is still a joke for balance, the only difference is that some of the players there cook their nades.

Don’t forget that lvl10 servers nowadays are populated by the people you were complaining about on no lvl restriction servers a couple weeks ago.
@Izzy You’re right, it’s an open lvl server and people can play where and how they want.
But balance can’t be achieved with lvls like these, it will mostly be who has the least lowlevels wins.
My post was more hinted towards high lvls obviously stacking in ops picture, than towards op or other high lvls who just want to play with lower lvl friends.
And yes @Naralin min10 servers can be a real salty place, but overall I feel much less “typical” newbie issues and people more willing to vote for balance there
They aren’t necessarily stacking. I have seen this not later than this morning. All people were present before, no leavers (after the shuffling), nobody joined after, nobody moved teams, and yet, this happens
Don’t call “high levels” stackers.
And I can tell you, what you show us seems to be really fair. I don’t know about the hidden ELO, but only the levels, that seems fair to me. Now, don’t judge on levels, ffs
Do Execution mode and Objective have the same balancing?
Objective should balance alright and I have seen many high level players stack nontheless, after game start. I didn’t call every high level stacker, im higher lvl than you.
Just the high levels in the picture, presumably.
And yes, yes I know lvl is not skill, I can see this on myself
But it’s quite a good indicator for ones capabilities.
I wouldn’t mind if the max level 5 servers were bumped up to max level 10 servers, really.
I also don’t really expect publics to ever be a place where you find a majority of balanced matches. Autoshuffle due to skill imbalance would be of limited used, since by the time it kicks in chances are the damage is already done and the objectives are already half completed etc.
Matches are balanced based on a hidden ELO. Not level. If the system balances you against a couple of higher level players it means they aren’t that great despite what their level says.
Of course during a match a number of things can happen like players joining and ending up on a side that they would not have if the teams weren’t lopsided at the time or players switching teams to play with each other. These things can throw off balance because even mediocre players working together can stomp in a pub a lot of times.
DB is not an MMO. You don’t magically get more powerful the more levels you gain. At some point, which is usually quite early for many people, they stop getting better at any kind of pace. If time was all that was needed for skill in anything humans do then older people still in their physical prime would be winning at everything all the time.
I hope they hide levels soon because a lot of the issues with balance is purely in players heads in regards to level because it’s the quickest and easiest scapegoat that takes precedence over looking at your team comp. Instead of losing and blaming it on the other team having a level 45 you suddenly start thinking you lost because your team didn’t have an engineer on EV maps or no medics. Or that maybe your team just got out-classed at times which happens even at the higher tiers of competitive play when skill levels are nearly even between teams. Everyone has bad days and it has nothing to do with your account level.
