Title. Why do the devs want to keep the stuff that happened in the alpha and closed beta so secret? I can understand not wanting people blabbing about it while the alpha/CB were going on, but I fail to see why stuff that happened two to three years ago is still top secret classified. I don’t see a practical purpose. Was there tons of content they don’t want us to know about, or what? I just want to know what the practical purpose of the NDA is.
What is the point of the NDA?
Because it creates the idea that things as they are presented is how the end product will be, and could be considered false advertising.
This is pretty typical of every beta and alpha testing, we’re in an open beta right now, so we can discuss what we want. But any new content that comes out in the private test servers is not allowed to be discussed.
It’s just typical procedure, it was like that for all beta and alpha testing I did, I can’t even talk about the games even though they came out.
all kinds of reasons imo. many design choices have changes drastically over the years, it would not help to bring them out now. SD likely doesnt want misinformation in the form of outdated videos either.
to be honest it sounds like good practice really, there really isnt much to ‘uncover’ and covering your bases seems reasonable to me
Yeah, things like the seperate skin system was too awesome, so they have to have NDA to stop us getting jealous and seeing a much better system that was gotten rid of for what was probably a financial reason.
I know lots of people would love to see throwing knives and silencers back, but SD don’t. NDA stops us seeing that stuff and moaning about what could have been. That’s one reason, anyway.

meh, the game was SOOO different back then, whatever you saw can be hugely misconstrued. I’ve seen plenty of alpha footage/content that seemed awesome, but upon closer look had actually glaring issues.
Imo game has only gotten better since. Yes it would be nice of skins were disjointed from loadouts, but ill take it if that means i get the unique DB gameplay that the game provides.
