Heloo! I have pheonix and a gold loadcard (that is my 1st merc)! For a 2nd I want Nader or flecher (probably nader )
but for 3rd i dont know so I need your Help!!!
Thank you
What is the best merc in game!
If you get Nader second, go with an engineer. I prefer bushwacker, as sneaky turrets can turn the tide of a match.
If you pick Fletcher, go something heavier. I still don’t have any assault mercs, and seriously regret it. That said, Stoker is awesome. He’s on free rotation atm, so give him a shot.
1st get phoenix (he was first merc), 2nd id get phantom if you’re into salting people up or melee, 3rd id get stoker. Rest of mercs I find that they are pretty generics.
Well, I like Nader the most. Grenade launcher is pretty easy to use, compared to fletcher’s stickys.
Proxy is the best mechanic imo because of her speed and the fact you can boobytrap the C4 you set. That would be my advice for your 1st merc out the gate. Sometimes your team will just not be that great and if you can use your speed to sneak by the enemy and plant or defuse, you can really carry a team. I also own Bushwacker and he’s fun but really just not as useful because he’s so friggin slow.
After that I would spend the credits to buy Aura’s Blishlock loadout.
After that, buy whatever you want but resist the temptation to buy Vasili or Redeye
In choosing my primary mercenaries I went based on usability.
1 | Phoenix - Medic (Also possesses the ability to self-revive)
2 | Kira - Fire Support (Controllable orbital strike, deployable ammo station)
3 | Bushwhacker - Objective Specialist (Repair/Arm/Disarm objectives, deployable turret)
I often swap out my 3rd primary for a mission requiring a mercenary not already in my queue. I’d recommend only adding the mercenaries you have a good concept of, and/or the ones you wish to better yourself with.
I can’t tell which Merc is my favourite because… I love almost all of them xD
But here’s my pick for each class:
Medic: Sawbonez
Engineer: Fletcher
Support: Stoker
Assault: Fragger (I usually use Fletcher as my assault Merc, but Fragger is more consistent, and I don’t need to rely on his ability so much)
Recon: Phantom
Honourable mentions: Phoenix, Bushwacker, Skyhammer.
It depends on what is your playstyle.
Its important to play the role what your merc have.
If you play medic - heal
If you play engineer - repair, plant, defuse
If you play Assault - kill
My opinion is 1 support, 1 engineer and one assault merc are the best in your team.
Don’t forget to revive. I see too many medics pass others by who are bleeding out.
The mechanic of bleeding out (with options to finish or revive) is very important in DB, I see a lot of newbies get that wrong. Somebody drops on the floor, so they think “he’s dead” and focus on another one. Then a medic comes by and suddenly you have 3 enemies in front of you.
Especially with Phoenix: finish the dude whenever possible, or else he’s gonna revive himself.
Now you’re forgetting about medics and recon. I usually have 1 support and 1 engineer and keep the other slot for assault and medic, whatever I feel like. Lately I’ve been using Nader a lot.
Recon is not my play style, I only put it in my squad when a mission requires it. And then I usually don’t actually play the recon.
You’ve got a medic and an assault merc if you pick up nader. You’re gonna want an objective specialist just to make your squad as versatile as possible. Objective specialists are fletcher, proxy and bushwacker. They are all good in their own sense, however they all have their own disadvantages and advantages;
Fletcher - Honestly you can’t mess up that bad with this one. You have sticky bombs, a decent shotgun as a primary, a pretty damn good secondary (based on the default card) and are not too slow… General idea is to throw your sticky bombs in their general vicinity and blow them up. Works even better if you can show up behind them for some surprise rape. Ummm… I mean surprise BOOM! You can also create pretty elaborate traps with the bombs as they are generally small enough that most players won’t notice them until its too late. Only problem is you have to actually manually detonate them. Overall Fletcher is the most overall merc - he can hold his own in a fight, he’s an engineer so plants like a crazy person, he’s fast enough that he can get to places without having to rely on long jumps / running with his melee out, he’s got enough health that on the off chance that someone sneaks up behind you you might not instantly get turned into mincemeat, and bombs are pretty good on both assault and defence.
Proxy is fast as all hell (I know this might not mean much to you but 450 movement speed). She is also generally very good at being a tad sneaky and letting her team do the distraction role as she runs off and plants/diffuses. From my experience people tend to be idiots so they will most likely blindly walk onto mines if you place them correctly - behind corners/behind crates/behind doors/behind literally anything that will prevent them from seeing it until the last second. Mining the C4 is not generally the best idea as people will expect that, however if you learn the maps there are usually one or two good places to plant near every objective anyway. However don’t expect to be John Rambo. You are fast. Fast as all hell. And you have a SMG/Shotgun. You don’t do 1 vs. anything more than 1 unless you are very good. Or very bloody lucky. General idea if you see more than 2 people running at you is to run for the damn hills. You don’t have Hp. Literally. Well, you do. But its only 90 so you might as well not have any.
Bushwacker - Same health as fletcher (110), slightly slower at 410, but he does have an SMG as his primary. Also turrets. The turret is pretty good at locking up areas, and there’s a fair few areas on each map that you can place it that will guarantee you at least a kill. Unlike proxy mines the turret has 100 health, and can easily kill a merc that foolishly runs out infront of it. Thus place it in areas that provide it with cover and let it see the objective / areas frequented by other mercs - generally entrances/exits are a good idea. Keep in mind that the turret does have a set up time and does have a maximum range, so don’t expect it to snipe people from across the map. From what I’ve seen its range is about 20 metres (feel free to tell me if that’s wrong). You are generally too slow to go for the objective yourself and too reliant on the turret to solo people, rely on your team to get you to the objective, plant/disarm, put down a turret, sit down and watch as anyone foolish enough to walk up to the objective gets shredded into confetti by your turret… Until people realise that it’s there and they flank it (it has a firing arc of about 180 degrees) or run at it in a group (it does have a miss chance and can only focus on one person at a time - generally the person it “saw” first/whoever is closest"). At that point you might as well either tell your team to wake the hell up and come save you, or actually use that SMG and shoot people. The turret serves as a very good distraction and can allow you to flank people and shoot them, or you can do things the other way and let people chase you into your turret’s field of fire, turn around, and watch in joy as your pet turret lights them up like its Christmas. Both of these work fine. Word of advice - if your turret is disabled, it stays up as a “wreck” for a second or so. You can recover it at this point and cut the cd by a bit.
Hope this helps, ask if you need any more info about other mercs or if you disagree with anything I said, I’m cool with modifying this if I agree with what you say.
Sneaky turrets are what make Bushie Bush one of the best Mercs in the game for pure offensive and defensive power. It’s just high speed chess.
