What is permanent?

(LyndonL) #21

Isn’t there a lobby type system where you go into “warm up”. That’d be the perfect time to change all your character setup. In fact I think I remember AGES ago that that’s when they recommend you change all that stuff?

EDIT: Lobby is a bad word… I meant “warm up” as in 30 seconds til match starts… The same time where the cut scene would play.

(DoHo) #22

Oh I had no idea so many things were permanant (or possibly permanant). I’m much rather just be able to customise any part of my character whenever I want (while not in-game of course). It’d be just plain annoying if I liked having a character set-up a certain way, but needed 3 different “characters” for light medium and heavy variants. Why not just be able to change bodytype while not in a game?

(trigg3r) #23

AFAIK body type is not permanent, you can change it whenever you want

(Cankor) #24

You can.

(chars)

(brbrbr) #25

yeah, you can’t.
and thats RIGHT.

p.s.
but you can re-adjust you skills/perks at cost of some xp.

What the heck, a post by brbrbr that I completely understood? It is the end of times! :stuck_out_tongue:

Since it is apparently true that you can now change your guy’s body type just like all of his other features, I wonder if we still have to be a certain level before we can change to Heavy/Light, or if they’re now available from the start.

maybe thats also map/stage-dependant
like “you too fat to fit in that dropship capsule/airborne platform”-similar reasons
or “no operatives with beards allowed to hack 4th console”
or “only big bodytype soldier can unlock 2nd HE charge/powered-up charge perks”
or “only guy with “A”-labeled bandana scream “Anarchy !!” toward VoIP”
&etc&etc

(Herandar) #28

World Gaming Network preview posted today re-affirms that tattoos are permanent.

(Iur'Tae'Mont) #29

Too bad it’s not like Real life. Where you can remove tattoos with painful surgery. Make it were you have to get the surgery IRL to be more immersive.

(trigg3r) #30

they should include a “Laser tattoo removal” ability so you can get rid of the tattoos

[QUOTE=Iur’Tae’Mont;265219]Too bad it’s not like Real life. Where you can remove tattoos with painful surgery. I’d much prefer not to use tattoos at all since if I have to wait to see if there’s one I’ll like at a later stage I’ll get used to my character not havng tattoos at all.

Shrugs

(LyndonL) #32

My first character is going to be a bastard that I just try everything on. Once you accrue enough XP you can then transfer it to your next character anyway and by then you know roughly what you want.

(trigg3r) #33

So you can spend XP in a character buying customizatin options and abilities, and then take away that xp (taking away the abilities as well i assume) from him and use it in another character?

(Nail) #34

nope, after you get lvl 20, any xp earned after that can be shared among your other characters, iirc

(Wraith) #35

It’s a nice feature.

(Herandar) #36

Pretty sure you can share before maxing out your level. Otherwise, yes.

(Humate) #37

The XP goes to a pool which can be used amongst all your characters.
I dont believe the prerequisite for this to work, is a maxed out character.

And also your body type, inbetween matches. This has been confirmed all over the place.
