What is DB selling actually?

I wondered a lot what does DB provides different from other productions? I mean Brink had parkour and amazing customisation. Also gameplay was influenced by player bodytype. TF2 is class-based and cartoony.

So what about Dirty Bomb? Is the specialised Characters loadout (forcing players to chose one specific character, moba-style) a selling feature? I did see nothing special there. Actually i think it’s even below Brink arguments. The shooting gameplay is more accurate than brink, but in the team based fps world, what’s new? I’m not asking “what’s better”, no, i’m asking what is DB trying to put on spotlight? (if it’s trying at all).

imo, so far it’s like a brink clone, but with less ambition. So why would i play dirty bomb instead of other similar games out there?
Opinions appreciated =)

I had much more Fun with Brink then Dirty Bomb, the only Reason why i give Dirty Bomb a Chance is “E.T.”

Same for me (a shame brink got deserted it’s not as fun to play now, with 2 players when you lucky). I’m hoping DB gets someday as fun as WolfeT at least if it has nothing special. Maybe the final release will bring many folks to give a bit of life in servers.

Oh now i think about it, the bit of parkour in DB is better than Brink’s. But that’s no new feature still… (i keep wondering why they didn’t update Brink or produce brink 2 instead of doing DB).

DB is probably a little more fast paced. With a lot of games nowadays, they tend to be played the same way but the look and feel is what really makes the players want more. I feel the class system in DB is great and the game is graphically well polished.

Of course the game may have its quality, but comparing to others, don’t you regret the BRINK customisation, the maps, the bodytype, the buff system?
I feel DB is a step backward.

But i must admit the feel is a great success (the sound design too), I give you that! The graphic engine is nice too (but the artistic direction is way too much random for me)!
But it’s all technical detail, nothing “huge” comes out of this. I fear (well i don’t, as i don’t really love the game) it wont be much played, even if it’s spotted as f2p, it’ll be deserted just like Brink & survive through 2 servers with 8 players a month.

Concerning characters, i’m not into this “moba-ish” choice (each chara has his own stuff), but then i hope there will be a lot more of them and wish they were even more different than they already are between them, cuz it’s not yet clear to me. If characters (and cards) is an argument of dirty bomb, i feel like it’s not enough developped. I’m still waiting my rollerblade guy attacking with copstick dayum!

If I’m not mistaken, crates can be dropped in which the load outs of particular characters can be altered when a specific card is obtained.

But do no quote me on that.

I must say i played without assigning cards cuz i’m not curious about it, i just want to get in the game and enjoy. The card system is killing me in such games (have you seen the Warframe card system?.. what a mess).

I’d rather prefer a rpg side, with skill points to assign after each level. But maybe i’m bit oldy.

When I say cards, I just say that cause the loadout is given to you in a card-like shape, its not necessarily a card. Yes I have played warframe actually and its not like that.

Yeah you have fusion cores to deal with and stuff.

Well i just got in a menu with keys, cards, crates and frankly, it’s so overwhelming, i don’t bother to read any of the inventory item, i just ignore it all.
I’m playing right now, my score was 11/20, got lucky i guess. But i keep thinking the aiming/shooting is : close conflict, no bullet touch the damn guy. Long range, opponent kill you in 0,2 secs. Whatwhat?

Its definitely a unique game. :# If you have keys and crates, you might as well open em

you are not testing a game, you are testing different parts of the game, be patient
