What is better? Burst fire or auto?

(roningoud) #1

I am talking about the Timik-47, the M4A1, the Br-16 and the ST-ARK (I am not counting the smg’s but correct me if i missed a gun)

I am posting this now because i know there came some changes to the Burst fire guns.
Some people would prefer the automatic guns because you can easely sprai around with them even if you’re aim is bad. but other people like the burst fire because it may feel like shotgun or like they can snipe with them, I don’t know.

I like the Burst fire because I can snipe a bit and even with the last update.

pls give your opinion. I am qurious, pls let me know.

Pick the M4 and have the best of everything (performs well on close to longish distance)
If you want to snipe pick a Sniper
if you want to have the worst from both take a Burstrifle

You have to be SUPER skilled to use a burst effectively. If you’re looking for more of a “plug and play” kind of rifle, go for autos - IMO, M4 is the best.

The Burst Fire rifles used to be really good if you spent a couple of hours playtime learning them, but after the changes (which also made the BR-16 and the Stark AR different from each other) the BR-16 is now incredibly ineffective, even if you fire it as fast as possible.

I haven’t been able to use the Stark AR since the update though (I don’t have any fire support mercs except for Skyhammer), and I’ve heard from some people that it actually is still usable.

Automatic guns are always superior unless the slower firing options have a huge advantage, and that is for one reason and one reason only: ease of use.

It’s easy to spray and pray, and to accommodate enemy position on the fly with audial feedback saying whether or not you’re hitting or missing.

With any semi-auto or burst or delayed shot of any kind, you have to adjust aim before firing, and that can make a huge difference. If you miss, you get no feedback as to where the enemy is, while with an automatic gun, you have a ding every few milliseconds to tell you whether or not you’re hitting or missing. This just makes automatics easier to use.

Use the M4. Its objectively better than the other 3.
