ive been averaging 15-20k games with pheonix and it takes forever to get a level and im in my 30’s . i see some 150+ levels and ave a hard time believing they get there legit.
what is a believable level
It’s very legit.
I myself am only level 98, with a total of 617 hours., and have been playing the game since July 2015, which equates to around 58 minutes per day on average, which isn’t a lot. The better player you are (or the better score-farming merc you play), the easier it is to level. Generally, being a better player = Higher SPM (Score Per Minute) = Less time required to reach a higher level. I know plenty of people who are the same level as me, yet have 2x or even 3x my playtime, as my SPM is quite high at approximately 1100.
Remember, this game has been around for 3 years.
What do you mean you find it hard to believe people did it legit? It’s simple math.
Do you even look at how many hours they have in game, or have you taken into account that some people have been playing the game and leveling up since 2014? That’s nearly 3 years for some of them.
I have been playing since July 2015 and I am level 142. I have only 956 hours in game, which means it has taken me on average 6.7ish hours of actual game play to reach a new level. Some guys have up to and more than 2000 hours, and most of them are well over level 200.
What is so hard to believe about high levels? Don’t forget that most really good guys will be clocking in 35k or higher for an average stopwatch game too btw, so it really only takes a good 10 or so games for a veteran player to level up.

@doxjqWow, if you zoom in closely on Proxy’s image, there is a hidden message within!
can confirm
Nisse is like level 300+, we have a handful of 200+ players and more and more vets are in the 100s.

I’ve clocked in 200 hours on DB, and only recently have I hit level 10. Am I that much of a scrub?

The amount of xp for a level never changed, it just got displayed at one point.

I did not know that - good to know. Still, the year prior would have trained players to speed through the levels once they released.

How do I put this lightly… Keep at it, friend!

Pretty simple really, he means situations where there is a disparity between playtime and rank. I saw a 200+ with barely a 1000 hours the other day.
It’s pretty common in games that implement arduous grinds in order to level to be subject to boosters. We saw the same thing In Warhawk back in 2007-2008 on the PS3. It took over 250,000 points to get to max rank, as well as in-game medals, and you only got 1 point per kill, 25 points for objective…

Well, those kind of examples are pretty rare. I have personally in my entire time playing DB never seen a high level player that doesn’t have heaps of hours, so I dare say they aren’t common.
But regardless, that isn’t what the OP was saying any way. Or if that is what he was trying to say he worded it poorly.
@AlbinMatt Have you been playing ranked a lot? That would explain the long time to rank up. I used to go up a rank every week until they started ranked S2. That low XP bug in ranked coupled with less number of people to run into your airstrikes has increased the time to rank up quite a lot.
150-30=120
120x400,000=48,000,000
48,000,000/20,000=2,400
2,400 matches to go

Now that you’re level 10 try to play on min 10 servers. It might be harsh in the beginning but warts and all players play more sensible there. I find it much easier to get insurance XP and objective XP there because revived players actually make some kills afterwards or other players cover the objective so you might even get the 1000xp objective bonus.
There was an XP exploit a while back, but I don’t think it was around long enough for anyone to make significant use of it. Also doubt the higher level vets were the ones to abuse it.
