What happens if there is no PSN?

(SuperWaz) #21

That was my concern for those buying on PS3. It’s not like they can even release a day one patch to fix it.

It should work offline of course, I wouldn’t have thought SD would make persistent connections a requirement, but stranger things have happened.

PS3 purchasers, I wish you luck.

XP is handled the same for SP/MP. This has been publically promoted for a few months now.

(Angelus3K) #23

Yes I know this I had the Brink Beta back in January, what I mean is even though there is no active PSN connection does the XP still get awarded in SP then synced to the MP server once PSN is back?

(Herandar) #24

Really? Proof??

(Crytiqal) #25

Why? you jealous??

(Herandar) #26

Not in the slightest. This is just the first person to publically state that they were part of the Beta without being an obvious troll.

(DazTroyer) #27

It would be nice of “said person” to say how the beta played?

(Angelus3K) #28

Yea I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that lol. Before I played Brink I had no idea what it was and had never even heard of it, I don’t really like shooters like COD etc but I loved the gameplay in Brink, particulary the Operative! Definetly buying this when it comes out!

I just switched my Amazon order to the 360 version. Not taking any chances if PSN doesn’t come back for another 3 weeks.

All we need is for Sony to discover another little breach which will push the date back until June.

@Angelus3K
How many maps were in the beta?

There were only 2.

(MatthiasK75) #32

i really wish a dev would post in here, it would sure be helpful

(Herandar) #33

Devs aren’t posting because of the flood of threads in this forum.

(Crispy) #34

I can confirm that XP can be earned offline in Brink, and will not be lost if you sign into PSN using that save data.

(peteXnasty) #35

There’s going to be next to no one playing on ps3 :frowning: so many preorders at my store switched for 360.

(Mustang) #36

Which brings us back to the question I posed around 12 months ago which was
How do you prevent people from going offline, modifying their save game files, then going back online with uax

Most PS3 game saves are encrypted, so while you could transfer them to PC, hack them or hex edit them etc you wouldnt be able to recrypt and sign them for the PS3 to accept them again.

(peteXnasty) #38

I found out the answer the the OP

Its simply not nearly as fun as it should be and the ps3 may possiblylose its community bfore it even starts
