What Happened to the "Announcement"?

Two months ago, the CEO of Splash Damage left this comment on a post where Sagan said he was leaving DB for now and left his laundry list of things he wanted fixed or looked at for the game. (linked below as well)

"Hi Sagan! I’m Locki (Richard’s co-founder and CEO of SD.) I’m sometimes active on Twitter/Facebook/Instagram talking about current plans for DB, but not on Reddit before (hello everyone!)

It’s quite frustrating to read your list of issues, know what we have planned, but not be able to immediately satisfy you because of confidentiality… However! What I can say is it’s not quite true that’s it’s our game and we can do what we want right now, but we have something big to announce very shortly that will change all that.

What I can tel you is that every feature in your list (except melle 2.0 - i don’t know what that is) and referees commands (is that OSP style?) are in a plan we’re writing right now. We’ve been waiting till we’re able to do DB properly, and it feels like we’re days away.

Oh and friendly fire off on publics? How will they learn?!?!?! :slight_smile:

By the way I loved your videos. I’m not letting you leave DB. Let’s have a call! Shoe or Richard roll give you my number.

What happened to said announcement? Did it happen and I missed it? If they were really “days” away then something major must have happened to be delayed this long. Or maybe it’s just another version of Soon™… Just wondering if anyone else in the community has heard something.

Seems like the last maintenance, which should have taken 24 hours originally, could be the foundation for something big.

But I was also already wondering, what happened to this announcement. It was clear that “and it feels like we’re days away” was just a figure of speech. But 2 months is kind of a stretch…

I really hope that better sooner than later something big happenes and that this was not just another soon.

I don’t think you’ve missed anything. I’d sorta hoped that comment was going to lead to a big announcement but it still ends up the same old - no committing to anything and no expectations.

I’m sure people will be quite happy to give it the old “shut up and play” bit but hey, they said it and they’ve not announced anything, they should be called out on that really. Quite understandable that people feel like they’re gasping given we’ve had nothing to go on beyond Dockyard Soon™ / CMM Soon™. I’ve kinda given up going on about it as it rarely leads to productive discussions.

I was 99% sure the big announcement was the fact that they were splitting ties with Nexon. Nail and several other people besides me all thought this was it… :confused:
They’re ofc going to announce different changes that were ON that list, but that will come with time.
