What grinds your gears?

(scrub_lord) #1

When players go to plant/repair/defuse an objective when I’ve already started it before them. You know you could be covering us instead of being useless.

When players never use their abilities, especially defibs. I just want to bash my head against my keyboard when a medic runs past me while I’m down.

(Ghosthree3) #2

People that just don’t know how to play FPS games. So basically everyone. Just simple shit, lack of awareness, simple mechanics, etc. They die for no reason or don’t notice as you die next to them. Run over you as a medic without reviving, don’t drop ammo even though you’re screaming.

Ugh. Enough to make anyone homicidal.

Losing connection to server with ‘SERVER TIME OUT’ after getting 20-30k XP
Getting absolute retard medics
Rhino+aura hp station campers !

(Ghosthree3) #4

Not THIS is annoying. Server crashes and ghost players definitely rank up there for maximum gear grinding.

-Teammates who I revive in the middle of a fight who proceed to shoot immediately and die again rather than run to cover using their invulnerability.

-People who pick up my medpacks when they lost ~10% of their health.

-Teammates who run into battle solo, die, and then complain that the medics on the team suck for not reviving him/her.

It’s actually really weird, that this isn’t explained in the tutorial.
I remember being quite confused about this stuff, as a new player.

Today I experienced a friendly (?) medic standing on my body, while he was shooting, shooting, shooting, then he threw himself a medpack, (looking at me while he did it,) waiting for himself to heal, (like wtf, you could not use those 5 secs where you just wait for your selfheal to revive me?), then shooting some more, then finally getting killed. All this time, about 20 seconds, he just stood at me, never occurred to him he could revive me. To make matters worse, I was the objective class, and the enemy had planted. God, I hate rambos! Of course, we lost.

(XavienX) #8

One time a Sawbonez player was the last one standing and the rest of the team was down around him and he MISSED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US WHEN HE TRIED TO USE THE DEFIB…and than he ran off…and well, he died. The end.

(Ghosthree3) #9

What gets me is sawbones that only drop medpacks for themselves.

It just came off as common sense to me and it even notifies you that a teammate is already doing the objective. I think it should just prevent people from even attempting the objective if someone is already on it, unless the player is replacing them as an Engineer.

(Eddie) #11

Medics that don’t heal/revive and Skyhammers that don’t drop ammo packs.

(SilentSmile) #12

When a Rhino refuses to move ahead of his team.

(Runeforce) #13

What really gets to me is Sawbonez and Skyhammers emptying their support packs at the ground at spawn, not realising they will despawn before the next spawnwave, and thus not helping at all. They are even failing at what they are trying to do: farm xp! I guess it makes some kind of sense for the ammo packs, but it’s just a brain fart with the medpacks. WhyTF WOULD YOU THROW YOUR MEDPACKS WHERE NO ONE IS NEVER EVER GOING TO USE THEM???

(Ghosthree3) #14

Sawbones dropping meds at spawn is pants on head, but dropping ammo is fine if you spawn in a wave.

People do that because it’s free med pack XP for the support daily since you’ll regen most of the packs before you need them on most maps.

(Runeforce) #16

No way. You will at most have generated one when you hit the front line. And the xp is so small, it’s negligible. It’s brain farts, plain and simple.

I (do not) love the Fragger hiding behind the Aura, waiting for her to push in.

Or the classic: the EV is repaired, but everybody on your team is ignoring it.

  1. Groups of players in competitive that should probably be in a higher ranking. I virtually always topscore my team, but it goes soooooo slowly (if at all, I’m not even sure) if it’s on the losing team.

  2. People who don’t cover me while I’m completing the objective. Just because you can’t help directly doesn’t mean you can’t help.

  3. Topscoring the losing team but not increasing in rank. Do I have to be good enough to carry a failing team to be worthy of ranking up?

  4. People playing 3 or more of the same class. Having 2 Skyhammers is fine if you’re attacking an EV, having 3 or more means we won’t be able to do much but spam airstrike, which isn’t all that helpful in certain circumstances.

  5. People leaving competitive early. 10/10 would ruin chances of winning again.

  6. People leaving competitive early from the winning team. 10/10 would DEFINITELY ruin chances of winning again.

  7. People playing Vassili when:
    a) We’re down one or more players
    b) We’re getting beat pretty badly and need more classes to go in and try to do the objective

  8. Aimbot

  9. Not being able to toss a teammate a healthpack because they’re either running into battle with tons of damage or jerking from side to side for no rational reason. Seriously dude, it’s good for both of us, I promise.

  10. Being out of healthkits and dying because I had to throw an extra one at teammate that decided to run into battle with 10 hp

10/10 would grind my gears again

(Whew, felt good to vent a bit)

(N33t) #18

When I get into a close quaters combat and I’m favored… and lose. I just feel terrible. “Omg that guy had 10 hp when I enganged him, why couldn’t I hit him?” T.T
Basically, when the human body is not an aimbot. Players not playing the objective is annoying yes, but this grind my gears like nothing else :stuck_out_tongue:

(GoobyOfPls) #19

Not having Sparks

(Mr-Penguin) #20

Medics who have no idea what they’re doing (no revives or heals)

Allies who hate on me for running away from the EV when an airstrike markers hits the ground next to it (only for all of them to die a few seconds later)

People that don’t know how to move Kira’s laser around.
