What game modes will there be?

I said this about Borderlands to Gearbox devs days before it was officially released, and I’ll say it about every shooter that comes up. We need more content in multiplayer FPS games that fall into two categories:

  1. Battles against super-massive robots with destructible parts with gratifying pyromanically masturbatory explosions. Mounted guns, recessed panels that move around. Think of things like Contra and Metal Slug bosses.

  2. More things like Titan mode in Battlefield 2142 and the ship boarding in Eternal Silence where you have vastly different planes of combat layered on top of one another.

But how would that make the game more like COD???

So everybody in here has played the missions already and know that they are boring? Man my info must suck, I though that you had to escort, keep alive, repair, hand in, carry, blow up, hack and more to succeed?
I wish I could play more games like CS or CoD!

It is indeed true.

You can start a Campaign which is just a story progression of all maps with more movies between missions. (Either solo, or cooperative or even with the option of letting other people logging in as your enemies.)

Theres Freeplay which lets you play on every map you like with the rule setting you like

Finally there is Challenge Mode in which you can hone your skills in various single player missions to unlock weapon attachments and stuff.
