What does this exactly mean?

“Fixed bug where players could use Loadout Cards for the selected Merc to Trade In”
So if I had 2 shit Nader cobalts and I want to try my luck with trade in, I need 2 other cobalt for a different merc?!?!?!

(Feley) #2

You can’t trade-in cobalt cards for merc that are you trading-in to…
It is by far the stupidestestest feature ever.

EDIT: Player: "Hey I have enough cards to trade up for fletcher 2 times, and than trade-in if I fail…

First trade-up > Fragment A62…

“Well, not exactly what I was looking forward to, let’s do the another trade up, I love Fletcher soo much! I want good cobalt for him!” - Says the excited player.

Second trade-up > Shard H31…

Now the rage comes: “FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, why RNG? WHY?”

“Let me trade-in those cards”

opens trade-in

“WTF? Where are the cobalt cards?.. What? Is this… Is this some kind of a bug???” - questions game with curiosity

reads patch notes

throws computer out of window

Well SD, This one is for you -

Although I’m not 100% sure, I think ‘the selected merc’ refers to a merc currently in your squad. Meaning players used to be able to use a loadout card they had selected to trade in, leaving them with a cardless merc in their squad.
I have just tested the issue you brought up and crafted and iron Rhino card with 3 lead Rhinos, so the feature you highlighted does not seem to be in the game

I’ve gone to trade-in my two simeon fletchers now for a fletcher… They aren’t showing on screen, and currently, non of those are in my squad…

Ignore me completely, it seems I can’t read. I wish I was right but apparently I am not
Just tried it with my Fraggers and they did not show up

Nevermind, I wish you were right as well!
I didn’t understand it at first as well, cause it is something stupid to add, and I tought I read it wrongly.

I come across this in a stream I’ve watched. Basically, you could trade-up the card you are using in your squad. If you did so, and tried to join a game, it showed an error with “unavailable DLC content” or something similar.

Wow. I’m very happy I traded in my two D43 Kiras before this patch.
I would have raged if I couldn’t.

(N8o) #10

Glad I traded in my Fletchers for Fletchers before this was fixed I guess.

(SteelMailbox) #11

Can you even call it fixed? I am sure most of us thought it was a feature.

First thing I though of were your 3 same cobalts and trade in recently, when I found out about that… LOL

You almost missed your chance, but you were lucky that you traded them

That “Common Sense” guy calls it feature as well. I appreciate his opinion!

(rhicheese) #13

Presumably the developers don’t want you trading a card (plus two others) for potentially that exact same card and effectively waste your cobalts. However, I feel until the loadouts are balanced, making many just as viable as the current few, this feature should be left as a choice for players to risk themselves.

(Jostabeere) #14

Well…I’m out until they fix this shit. Got a shitload of Stoker cards I wanted to trade-in for more Stoker.

(Runeforce) #15

It was a feature, according to the patch-notes:
‘Have a few Loadout cards you don’t want to use, but don’t want to bump up the rarity? The new Loadout Trade-In system will let you trade in three cards of the same rarity, from Bronze through Cobalt, for a random Loadout Card for the Merc of your choice at the same rarity. At the moment, Loadout Cards can not be traded in for cards of the same Merc - A future update will contain this functionality. Apart from that, any of your owned Loadout Cards can be traded in, putting those unwanted cards to good use.’

Fck sake, SD. This is why I say that SD acts like headless chickens. They just run around prodding at sht people don’t want. Which one of them thought “Oh, I know. Let’s cut off same-merc card Trade-Ups, they’ll like that won’t they?”.

(Dawnlazy) #17

…and here I was with a non-SM41 cobalt Nader waiting for another useless cobalt to pop up so I could do another Nader trade-in and hopefully get the SM41.
