What does this do

Does anyone know what the key scale does in a light entity ,as far as i can tell it only changes the intensity. For instance a light entity with the value of 1000 for light and a scale of .5 would give you the same value of simply using 500 for light.I dont see any difference but saw a map that added this key and am wondering why they botherd using it.

not sure what you mean but if you make a section a func group and add a scale setting you can incress the lightmap scale of the func group when it’s compiled.

goes like this I think.

scale N scales all lightsources

I’m not sure if that’s what your reffering to.

Yeah I know about lightmap scale but this is a entry in a light entity that I saw in a decompiled map that had SCALE in the key box and VALUE of .5 which seemed to reduce the intesity of the light but just couldnt understand why they would do it when it would just be easier to enter a 500 for light rather than 1000 and a scale of .5.
