What does "health insurance" mean when playing with Aura?

Just curious.

“After healing or reviving a friendly player, you’ll be rewarded with an XP bonus based on the XP your patient earns for the 10 seconds after being revived, which applies to all medics that put themselves in the line of fire for their teammates.”

(bontsa) #3

This should be confirmed by mythbusting btw, but I seem to get Health Insurance xp when medic that I’ve just healed/revived gets Health Insurance from some other patient. Ception times, could explain why some absolutely clueless Auras top the scoreboard.

(darlingClaymore) #4

With aura? heal 1 hp, guy kills entire team, Profit. Aura should get nerfed on exp takes no skill to just drop a med station, lvl 5s getting top of team. And high levels… exp is in 20k-30k

(bontsa) #5

I don’t mind anybody getting topscores if they’re trying their best to fill their classrole / contributing, no matter the level. I’m baffled by the cluelessness (no-rez medics) that tops the scoreboard nowadays, as it shows them this wrong way of doing things is actually rewarding.

(PD_Agent47) #6

because of those health insurance … there are lot of people taking medics now … the game will be no good if there is no medic … dirty bomb planned wisely to encourage players to take medic …

(PD_Agent47) #7

i can pass aura’s xp by using arty too !! it’s all about how u play with the mercs … if medic is good in his job he will top the table or else the guy who is good in the game . .

Well, Health Insurance is very effective.

Once I teamwiped with the orbital strike and gave the Phoenix that healed me a few seconds earlier 2.5K Health Insurance XP. He said I instacompleted his mission.

Lol you lot talking about exp as if it means something. It’s literally only to level up or to do the objectives for money, but in this case it doesn’t matter at all if they’re at the top of the team or not, considering points don’t mean shit but imagination.

And health insurance simply shows you that because of you, your teammate has done something helpful to the team, thus rewarding you. It’s a very good thing in my opinion as it encourages people to revive and heal rather than be those twats who do objectives right next to downed engineers or go around killing people and only healing themselves.

(jjpdn) #10

Health insurance should only activate if you heal more than 50% of the max hp if you’re Aura, 30hp if youre Sparks 40hp if youre Sawbonez and 25 if youre Phoenix.
It should also only give 75% of the xp in the next 10 seconds.

The medics still have to pull their own weight in terms of firepower.

(gloomyRequirement) #11

I don’t really mind health insurance xp. Problem is that it’s a bit disproportional, as goes for delivering the objective or repairing the EV(which isn’t entirely justified either, if your clown proxy rushes in to deliver and you jump inbetween the line of fire to make up for his poor timing he gets 1k xp whereas you get “fuk nob tunhdher”)

Then again Dirtymerc hit the nail on the head - if it motivates players to pick those necessary utility classes I’d be all for it. Just a bit obnoxious to get the constant “why u low score stoopid vasile” even if you have 10 more kill than the second in your team

There’s nothing wrong with spawnkilling, it’s the point of the game. Your goal is to prevent the other team from doing the objective or from them preventing you from doing the objective. If you can take this advantageous position that’s a good thing. The person spawnkilling is the skilled player, since he has the hardest task. People who whine about spawnkilling are just bad players. Don’t forget that the players have spawn protection for several seconds and a bunch of teammates all with full health and ammo. The guy spawnkilling has less ammo or almost none and possibly less health and is against several players. Spawnkillers should be praised, not hated on.

When you understand this fact, and stop fretting over stupid things like this you will be a better player.

Didn’t want a war. Used to play Wolfenstein ET years ago, where I learnt to dislike spawn killing. It’s like a gentleman thing, at least when playing casual. On competitive it’s a different world

I understand your point thou. Spawn killing is effective, if the killer is skilled and doesn’t instantly die.

It’s fair in every mode, but pub players just whine about it where competitive players understand it’s part of the gameplay :/. If you want SK reduced, you should focus on having them fix team balance instead because that would greatly reduce such a thing.

no

Competitive players promote the game and don’t shout lrn2play nub while nading lvl 5’s in the spawn.

Asshats do that.

I’m with Sneak on this one, spawnkilling is impossible in this game. Literally impossible.
When you spawn, your shield lasts long enough to get a fair distance away from the spawn area, and to choose whichever exit you like.

If you can’t fight yourself out of a spawncamping situation, the skill gap between both teams is simply too abhorrent and no spawn shield timer length is going to fix that.

(SirOrionDrake) #19

Fairplay. Even in a game that says we should play dirty.
What’s the point in abusing some one when you know you’re better? Mere xp and cash?
If a low level team don’t know how to react against spawn camping, it doesn’t mean you should do that. They will rage and whine, for sure. Or maybe they’ll stop playing DB. As I’ve seen happen to a friend. We don’t want less people playing this game, do we?

However, in competitive, I agree that anything goes.
