what do you think about this?

Looks good for a very first sketch. And its definitely a good basic layout for a map.
What are you planning with it? Do you have a more detailed list with the objectives?

Repair the abandoned truck
Steal the truck
Take the truck to fuel depot
Steal the fuel and Dynomite the gate
Take the truck to the barrier
Dynomite the barrier
Take the truck to the second barrier
Dynomite the second barrier
Dynomite the axis base gate
Take the truck to the axis base
Take the fuel to the helicopter
Steal the helicopter

a very good layout for a map

as long as the hills are big enough you should get very good vis portals and be able to avoid drawing most of the map

also i like the bottom left truck route where the players can get a faster route round when they have moved the truck though it

will be interesting to see how you provide cover for a lot of the map tho and see how wide the routes are to avoid turning the map into a arty spam fest

Helicopters never came about untill the 50’s, with the cold war. But there was a plant that has a rotating blade like a helicopter, that were used for radar r some crap. I saw them on the documentry channel.

A few Sikorsky R-4s actually served in WWII, and experimental helicopters (such as the the German FW-61) flew pre-war.

But there was a…

They were used for calabrating the cannel radar net, first flew in the early 1930’s.

Helicopter where in use during WWII.
The german have had also some in service.

List of World War II military aircraft of Germany

Not sure if autogiros can be called helicopters.

They all look like the mini helicopter from james bond. Did any of them ever serve in battle?

The first flight of the new helicopter was made in January 1942, and 130 production examples were soon produced. The R-4 recorded two firsts: it accomplished the first helicopter landing aboard a ship, and the first rescue by a helicopter (April 23, 1944 in Burma - one YR-4 of new Air Commandos evacuated 4 persons from aircraft L-1, which crashed over Japan teritory - first helicopter´s combat engaging).

but i gess you would need to find an axix helicopter since this is an allied raid

the one thing that i dont realy like too much about the layout is the fuel dump. Its just so conviniently placed along the route the allies are going to take. Like when the axis build the base they anticipated that it would be convineint for the allies so though they would help them out

imo it would be better if the allies just stole a fuel truck to start with and the fuel depo was just a litle base with some gates as a barrier

Good layout, will give good VIS control like carnage said. How big will the overall size be.
Why not knock up a terrain base to give you an idea of how it feels. It’s quite easy too do

I like it, too.

…and prevent airstrikes over the hills
