What do you think about the new crafting/dusting system?

(Szakalot) #81

Not entirely sure where you’re going with this. If my poll is that bad make another one and word it however you please - You’re going to get the same result.
I’m calling bullshit as i see it, especially if its spreading misinformation to large groups of people. Doesn’t mean that I’m responsible for setting the record straight.

Your second sentence there is that players will have no penalty for leaving, which was demonstrated to you as false.

Now, I’m all for letting that poll get buried under the weight of new threads about crafting whine, but if you will back up your statements with your biased poll, i will call you up on it.

I asked if I could edit the post without it messing with the poll and no one responded. I’m happy to edit it if that is the case. When I made the poll that information was not false as it had been said before either on the forums or on stream that there would be no penalties, but according to Raz it since changed. At the end of the day I don’t think it matters, because I dare say more people are concerned about the quality of their games being ruined by quitters not because there is or isn’t a penalty. I know that certainly is the case with most people I’ve spoken to - They want the flexibility and see no reason for a game like Dirty Bomb to lock teams.

(doxjq) #83

PS: I wasn’t trying to use my poll to back anything up, I was more just pointing out they directly acknowledged the communities concern in the first stream after I made that poll but didn’t really resolve anything.

All that was really said was the server browser will still exist if people want the flexibility. To me that says they won’t even consider unlocking teams in MM, even though we know there is a lot of concern about it.

(hoyes) #84

Well currently the crafting system is absolute shite due to how overpriced it is for veteran players. BUT i think if they lowered all prices for everything(THIS INCLUDES WEAPON KITS) it could be absolutely magnificent.

 • not sure where you think it was said, since you didn’t source anything. “I” recall devs saying there will be penalties from the first time I heard they were working on casual MM
 • People are concerned about quality of games ruined by quitters - which is exactly what penalties are trying to address. If people who ragequit are blocked from playing - quitter population will decrease significantly, thus removing the problem.

“I don’t care either way (neither like nor dislike).”
This option really doesn’t represent my opinion of the system.
There should have been an “It’s okay; about as bad/good.” option. Because the new system has both advantages and disadvantages compared to the old system and as granular and uninteresting a response that may be it’s simply the truth.
I think this system COULD be great.

I think it’s current version screws over people with inventories i.e. me.
Well, that’s not entirely true. It screws over people with lots of Bronze, Silver and Gold loadouts. It’s significantly better for people with lots of Cobalts. I.e: me.

(Press E) #87

I actually like the idea behind it, but the prices are insane. 50k credits for a cobalt AND 20k fragments? Are you out of your fucking mind?

I’m honestly pissed at SD for adding this. Yeah, it’s a free game and they want people to buy their RNGesus cases, but it’s a spit in the face to the people who have paid money on cards.

I don’t mind the system, but please for the love of god lower the prices.
A lot.
EDIT: Oh yeah. And didn’t SD even say in one of their demo vids for this; “We think we’re being generous”?
No. You’re not.
I’d rather have my 10k credit cobalt tradeup than all the weapon kits in the world.

(ImSploosh) #88

It’s pretty awful right now and needs to be revamped completely. If it is not changed, I will eventually quit Dirty Bomb. I can’t trade up any cards because of it and I have tons just sitting around. It will suck if they decide to not listen to the community and keep this system in place.

(l2c) #89

With weapon kits only in arsenal crates, it’s pretty rubbish. Getting the weapon I want would be the only benefit of having this new RNG over the old RNG.

(bushyg) #90

So uhhh yeah SD, got anything to say yet?

(Ohsnapkline) #91

probably not they’re going to do what every other game company does: ignore it and hope it goes away

(SnakekillerX) #92

I’d say the System its a drastic improvement, however I think the Costs need to be revisited.
I like how much less time consuming and tedious the process is compared to the old one, but the costs just don’t feel right.

I traded in over 800 cards (iron, lead and duplicates) and it was super quick and easy, however due to the costs I still can’t make a single Cobalt with the fragments I made. I’m at about 13000/20000 fragments.

Sure, I could sell some gold cards or cobalts, but it hardly seems worth it compared to the old system and I will probably refrain from spending my fragments until the costs are improved in a later patch. (lets hope)

That being said Cost and System are not the same thing, so again… System good, Cost bad.
Mainly I think its the Iron and Lead cards that are just not worth enough as is and should get an increase. Of course that won’t help me too much now as I’ve already sold about 800 of them.

So the solution I think would be to reduce the cost (both sell and buy costs) of anything above Lead and Iron, and just keep Lead and Iron sale prices the same.

(hozi) #93

If I get 6 gold cards from case (heh) I have to pay 50k instead of 10k to get cobalt. And I have to pay so much money for 33% ?? Do you think we should be happy with this system ?? I cant go bronze-silver-gold-cobalt like in previous system but I have to choose rarity and upgrading is more expensive. I failed 13 times to get one of two cobalt cards I want for bushwhacker (and I still dont have any).

Remove already owned cards from crafting output or let us remove manualy which card we dont want with some item or card (for example we can use 8 unwanted bronze cards to ban 8 cobalt output cards and get card we want)

(asparagusMist) #94

the crafting system for me has put pretty much a end to me even going higher than bronze. before i actually enjoyed how the system worked.

now i have my main chars with their guns in cobalt and all the others in bronze.

(The_N00Ba) #95

I will say recycling 800 cards to get 13000 fragment is not bad at all. I know based on the math you would have to recycle 864 leads to get 12960 fragments. That is not bad at all.

(Xyfurion) #96

That is only assuming we trade from only leads. Some of us get lucky and get golds and silvers from cases (which are now utterly useless with the new system)

(The_N00Ba) #97

oh yeah sorry I was referring to SnakekillerX’s comment

“I traded in over 800 cards (iron, lead and duplicates) and it was super quick and easy, however due to the costs I still can’t make a single Cobalt with the fragments I made. I’m at about 13000/20000 fragments.”

SnakekillerX appeared to use a lot of leads and irons. I am guessing some higher rarity cards as well which were duplicates. Considering a lot of what SnakekillerX recycled was leads and irons, I just thought that was pretty good. That’s all.

(FalC_16) #98

tl;dr

Coming back to this thread after a while and I see majority gives a damn or hates it…I certainly hope this represents enough public opinion for SD to do something about it.

If you think about how long it actually takes to obtain 800 cases though, it really doesn’t feel “pretty good”. lol
