What do you prefer, the Timik-47 or the M4A1?

Timik feels better after the last patch but still no where close to being as well rounded as the m4. The Timik needs a damage buff to give it an edge over the m4 because right now the m4 has the best loudout and is the easier gun to use.

M4A1 without doubt. I really dislike the Timik

The M4 is the better choice in the current balance. It has better augments, more versatility, is easier to use and will still put out enough damage to consistently win fights against inferior SMGs. However I like using it because the Timik has a higher skill ceiling and it feels like I’m getting better at DB, even if that doesn’t mean that I’ll win more, because the Timik isn’t that good.

Also, because Timik cards have worse augments it is safe to say that the Timik should be slightly better than the M4, which means that it will somewhere along the road be buffed. Another action SD could take is buff the augments on the Timik cards. Either way, I hope SD buffs the Timik eventually so that practise with it pays off.

Has anyone actually put in significant time analyzing and using the Timik since the most recent balance pass cause it just feels like everyone is parroting M4.

IMO You can do just as well with the M4 as with the Timik in-game as just primaries, but the M4 has much better augs. There isn’t any real reason for M4 players to switch, but Timik players aren’t being given a very hard time either. If the M4 players start noticing the “Reduced effective range by ~5%” and try the Timik, I’m sure some of them will play with the Timik more often.
