What do the server modes mean?

Is there some info somewhere on what exact settings are used for ‘standard’ ‘old skool’ ‘competitive’ server modes?

Not sure if you’ve seen this already (the manual for the dedicated server) , it describes the main differences in section 1.2.3:

from the manual:

Standard: standard, like in champaign mode

Advanced: Simulair to champaign mode however Friendly Fire is on and
voip is on by default

Competition: designed to support a more regimented and balanced
tournement style of play, where teams are smaller and gameplay is generally more deadly

Old school: “anything goes” mode, with no rank restrictions, no anti-social protection and no mercy

Custom: Only available for private games (?) Set up a match to your own speficications

I could have sworn I see custom matches with no passport?

Yeah, that is wrong - according to a post some dev posted in another thread here (http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showpost.php?p=296944&postcount=3), custom mode is when you change anything from the “standard” configs. At least on PC.

Also note, you still get xp in custom mode - so no need to filter them for “ranked” anymore  :oppressor:
