Do things like disarming c4 on objectives like the doors in underground count towards this mission?
What counts as a "secondary objective"
No but repairing them does. Also if you ride the elevator on underground it will count as a secondary objective. You can use this method over and over also unlike the repairing or destroying generators, that only counts the first time it’s repaired/destroyed.
Sometimes the elevators don’t count for me… But doors count over and over again… I don’t even pretend to know I just try to complete them and hope it counts. Though disarming C4 doesn’t count. You have to let it go off (which hurts your team) ad then repair it.
Edit This doesn’t make sense because it rewards letting the enemy succeed.
Easiest way to get the side-objectives is to play Underground and use each and every elevator. It sounds weird, but these actually count. Apart from that, setting C4 on the doors, repairing doors and gas tunnel also counts.
Enter the game as an engineer on the attacker’s side and you should have no problem getting the side objectives, with the above in mind.

They always count but there is a bug with the side objectives that will sometimes not register. I’ve ran into this with a friend a few times on chapel where I would be the first to take out the ramp to the MG and it wouldn’t count so is very likely the cause to them not registering for you.
Somehow I expect the next patch notes to include a quick hotfix to the elevators giving credit for this, while still leaving us to suffer through those awful missions
Every other game-related mission I complete passively, just by playing the game the way I always do, within 1 or two normal objective maps. I’ve done 10 or more maps in a row without getting a single tick completed on this mission (unless I purposely use the elevators) and I pretty much spend the entirety of every game focused on the game objectives.

Maybe you have to hold the elevator button in one go? If you or somebody else holds it halfway first it could not count?
Anyways, it’s extremely stupid mission and should be removed.
The secondary objectives mission is BUGGED. I have reported it already and have been in a constant dialogue with a moderator to figure out what is causing some secondaries not to be counted. So far, we’ve found out that almost all secondary objectives can fail, but also that all can be taken into account. As possible counts are: successfully exploding or repairing a generator or ramp. Capturing the forward spawn in Terminal doesn’t seem to be working.
I think in one of the latest patches this was at least partially improved.
My experience is that the secondary objectives quest is very easy to do, just join Underground as an engineer, use all the elevators and do the doors / gas tunnel objectives.
Only 1 game of Stopwatch should be enough to finish 4-6 side objectives.
Planting C4 on side objectives and having it go off seems iffy. Putting generators back up seems to work every time though, even works on the same one multiple times.
Sometimes main objectives seem to count.
Planting/disarming doesn’t work afaik.
#DirtyElevator 5/5 would ride again for the glory, victory and completion of secondary uh-jek-tiivs missions!
I surely hope they don’t hotfix this before actually making all secondaries count. What also buggs the darn out of me is that as of now, you have to let enemy complete the secondary in many cases (like Underground) before getting to do one yourself as Defender. Defending a secondary until bitter end gains you absolutely nothing, even if i.e. defusing a bomb planted on it does give you game mode experience.
I’m already past the point of sounding like a broken record, but instead of ranting this time I instead ask how would you more intelligent blokes & blokettes think of a solution where game mode experience gained while guarding, defusing, planting towards the secondaries would be calculated in these missions, not just fully blown & repaired ones? So basically if possible, changing these missions from “Complete X amount” to “Gain X amount of game mode xp through secondary objectives”?
Which doesn’t even make sense.
I feel like it does, have you ever played Battlefield Hardline? Where people would stand in front of a DOOR, kicking it, knifing it, shooting it but they didnt know how to open it or didnt recognize it as something that can be opened.
After seeing those people i feel like the Elevators are a perfectly fine secondary objective
