What Can SD Do?

I’m not arguing that there shouldn’t be more content. There definitely should. And they definitely should be striving for sustained content from other sources like community made maps and servers.

Instead of having 1 map out in a year, they could have a lot more. Not all of them will be gold, but it will be something you can play and discover something new from that the community has made.

I don’t know why they feel they need to hide information from us. The weekly videos they put out (even though I watch them) are pretty useless. They don’t tell me anything new, and its usually the same old thing over and over again.

I want there to be new content, but I get that this is out of my control and that it is a free to play game by a smaller team who I’m sure are still learning things as they go… or they wouldn’t have to do things like rework the whole weapon system to get bugs to disappear like Feltcher’s sticky bombs not blowing up.

It isn’t that I’m all SD fan boy, because I’m not. I haven’t been getting people into Dirty Bomb lately because I know most people seem to have video game ADHD and there just isn’t enough there for people to sink their teeth into and keep playing unless the game play alone is enough satisfaction. The game needs more, but attacking the team in all regards like I see this community do doesn’t help them either.

If I made DB and people acted towards me the same way they act towards SD I’d probably have stopped working on the game. There is little intensive (other than money) when people just shit all over everything you do. You don’t feel good about doing things or trying to please people, because you never will please everyone and you’ll always get a bunch of harsh comments describing how incompetent you are.

While I don’t care about the weekly videos about nothing, they are at least making them which shows me they still do care about their game, and that the future (no matter how far) still looks promising.

I hope they change their outlook towards all the secrecy, no one likes it and they aren’t winning any popularity contests by doing it. I do also hope this game succeeds, it really is a gem… a hidden gem too given how unpopular/underrated (due to lack of content and advertising) it is compared to other games… but only time will tell.

How long have they had those job postings up? 6 months now?

How many times do they have to tell you “our team is too small for the amount of work we need to do and we’re looking for new employees” before you get it? I can’t imagine this game makes much money and to be fair, you guys did force them into a full 6 months of nothing but balance changes which ate into their schedule.

It’s a small team with no income and people aren’t filling their open positions.

What do you want?

SD has other games which take up a large portion of their focus

6 months of balance changes? All they’ve done is make the game less balanced…

And maybe more people would apply for the jobs if they wouldn’t ask for people that have previously worked on AAA titles (altough I doubt any of the new employees have actually done that).

It never hurts to apply.

At the end of the day, a strong portfolio wins over a strong resume, especially in these lower positions.

And yes, the summer squash event was preceded by 3 months of pure balance change patches and all 3 summer squash updates had more balance tweaks than bug fixes.

Ergo, 6 months of balance changes.

Dockyard map was alright, but the whole update wasn’t as grand as SD hyped it up. Really feels like something was missing…

Yeah a major event to go with. The trinkets should have been part of an event that celebrated the release of the map not weeks in advance.

We waited around +/- a yr and all we got was ok its live now and a realy pathetic release notes thread. Realy sd??? Telling us go find the changes on our own.

Serously you guys had months to make patch notes in a word dock and juat paste into a thread

The release vid was kinda weak compaired to the other ones. And i still have 1.7 milion credits piling up with nowhere to go other than useless cases.

This would have been a perfect map to release turtle in and had an other rev style event

Ever since nexons divorce it seems like the hype train was awarded custody to nexon. Sd needs to step up there game on brimging the hype

The dickens meme event vid and the mofo update were energetic. This vid lacked energy. Think nexon was doi g a beter job with the publishing and marketing

With the new staff hires at SD I have renewed hope for the continuity of DB
I tried Overwatch. It’s okay. Though I prefer DB. Give it up to Overwatch who celebrated their first year. inside that 1st year they added 2 new mercs and more maps that’s great content for a game that has paid for itself many times over.
Considering DB is comparatively the underdog. There’s a lot more I enjoy with DB.
For example I prefer the shooting ADS and jumps found in DB.
For time invested I have invested money in cosmetics and I feel I have received great value from a F2P game.
But keeping to the Op’s theme here, Where are you taking us?
Show us what you got as a road map to the future.
Thanks SD.

ITT watch people complain over a lack of content/progress in a game they were given for free.

When people ever try to compare the development accomplishments and speed of $1.1b ($223m net profit) Blizzard to SD, I sometimes wonder if there’s hope for ever finding critical thinkers in this world.
