What are the top 5 best things about brink and Top 5 worse things?

(Gamer2Gamers) #1

I know this game has plenty of issues but if you could list the top 5 best and worse thing of brink for their perspective system PC/Console what would they be?

Worse.

  1. Sometimes I can get an online game with no lag but then I realize I am playing with bots, there is the occassion i get a full team but then random lag spikes show up.

  2. A.I. it seems when you play single player the bots on our side are outstandingly stupid. I think it’s one mission you’re suppose to unlock the safe and take a case back to the train but the A.I. on my side is so fixated with the command base they barely ever help me stop the bot from stealing the suitcase until he actually is stealing the suitcase and running off with it…oi.

  3. When a player is shooting me I can manage to survive and it seems well balanced but when a bot shoots me it’s like instant death, I can be shooting him before he spots me and he’ll kill me ten times faster. (playing a heavy by the way)

  4. I wish there was more maps and more challenges…or at least the challenges had different maps because I really do enjoy doing 4 player multiplayer on challenges but it gets repetitive quick.

can’t think of a 5th thing right now

Good

  1. I’m not to much of a PC guy but I really dig the customization even though i was slightly disappointed you couldn’t customize your archetype, facial features and choose your own colors for your clothing. I like that I can feel like my character is exclusively mines and unique to me…sort of like an RPG.

  2. I love this game and how it makes everyone work as a team unit to succeed, when you get a good team or you’re playing with friends on a well balanced team…like soldiers to fill up depleting ammo, good medics…well placed turrets…its just none stop fun with pure action

  3. even though I’m a heavy I really like the use of the parkour …i like leaping on objects to get the best vantage point and kick some ass or run away from getting my ass kicked with my slow ass heavy

…really that is all i can think of right now at this moment what are yours?

Worse

  1. Horrible framerate issues, so bad that I can’t even play the game sometimes. But I can play Crysis multiplayer, full settings with barely any framerate slowing. Wtf?

  2. Like you said I can take only three to four shot from an a.i. enemy but from someone on multiplayer it can take almost a full clip to kill me.

  3. Mass Lag!!!

Good

  1. The gameplay is amazing, the shooting is amazing, the custimization is amazing.

If this game was not so lagy and had a framerate patch or something I would say its the best game ive ever played but I can’t cause I rarely get to play it with out some stupid **** happening.

PLEASE BETHESDA/ SPLASH DAMAGE FIX THIS GAME IT HAS SUCH GREAT POTENTIAL

Pros:

-Fun!
-Competitiveness requires teamwork
-Unlocking abilities adds exponential amounts of gameplay
-SMART is pretty damn smooth

Cons:
-Lag (sometimes)
-As the operative, sometimes when I try to disguise myself my character runs in circles around the dead dude as if I can’t find a spot to do the action… rather annoying.
-Same as above except when I do a Comms Hack, my character will randomly sprint in random directions, but that doesn’t happen very often.
-Melee, sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn’t.

Will update.

Good stuff:

#1 Sound design. The guns sound EVIL and MEAN. Like that a lot.
#2 Art style: clean graphics, interesting character models
#3 XP system: Getting XP for stuff that does not involve killing people. Great for guys like me without the godlike reflexes. I can patch up dudes or dispense buffs and get more than a pat on the back for that. Nice
#4 Setting: Too bad it’s a little underused
#5 Customization: The characters look unique and different outfits are more than just a texture swap. Fun.

Bad stuff:
#1 Technical issues. Lag is horrible, texture pop-in sucks, Freezes = Bad. Freezes within the first 10 Minutes after booting up the game = Real bad. Freeze after about 45 Minutes when playing with friends and losing all that XP?. Dudes, what did your QA unit do?
#2 Brain-dead friendly AI. Yeah, good job cooking up a team-based shooter, but why are the enemies walking machines of destruction? Why do my AI medics have the survival instincts of a lemming? Why doesn’t my team lift a finger when I’m planting a charge and the WHOLE DAMN ENEMY TEAM rips me to shreds? Dudes, what did your QA team do??
#3 Localization woes. I play the german version. Nice thing, it’s not censored in any way. But: Why can’t I select the english voice track? There’s just the french, german and spanish track on the disc. The german voices are abysmal and sound like they phoned their lines in, lip-synching is all absent in the cut-scenes - your community manager does speak fluent german, didn’t he get to listen to the finished product?
#4 This is a retail game? REALLY? Eight Maps. Just about three handfuls of clothing pieces. No real singleplayer experience (thanks to #2)? And you charge full price for it? Ouch. Even Quake Wars was a bigger package than this.
#5 Hey, you even put the team chatter on the headset. Cool stuff, I wish more games would do that. But why, for heavens’ sake, did you have to keep in all the distortions and feedbacks? My ear is bleeding. Again, what did your QA team do?
