Hey !

Came back with an interesting question about Competitives Parties : Why aren’t they balanced ? Why is that possible to have a full Gold and Cobalt against a full unranked team + 1 Silver 1 ?

Seriously that’s just pretty annoying to get into parties where teams aren’t balanced in normal parties so in Competitive that’s just …
More over, allmost each time those weird matchmaking appear (yeah sometime I feel like this matchmaking is a Pokemon weird and not really usefull) the gold team are pretencious nerds that don’t have a life and enjoye ruining the game by poluing the chat with insult againt unranked and lower levels wich is kind of frustrating (yeah some time I wish I can see them in person to… no just forget that ! xD ).
I don’t say that’s happen all time but most of it, so when would we got balanced games , where premade plays against premade and unranked against unranked ?

The player pool is not big enough to support fair matchmaking as it stands.

In my experience the insults usually come from the losing team first.

Comp que is non functioning as of now. The player pool is much too small and Im not convinced the system is working anyway. Its not really a concern as is when the game isn’t complete. Theyre still getting mercs and maps out, as well as making tweaks and changes as they go.

I try to vote for team balancing and have noticed that if even 1 person says no, it’s rejected. Come on, I don’t think that’s right. Should be whichever gets the most votes.

we are talking about competitive matchmaking here, no such votes available there.

Balanced matches could work if only solo/duo queue would be available. Premades of 5 stomping newbies is what got people off matchmaking in the first place.

Someone time yeah, when the loosing team get only against premade gold team, it’s easily understandable that they’re fed up.
That clearily unfaire that premade fight against non premade and unranked against ranked.

I’ve just played against a premade team and my team just said that it would be quick as we can’t fight fairly against them because we don’t have all possibilities that they have, but we were polite and correct, we said good luck and have fun, like it common to say when you a little bit well educated and you know what they’ve answered ? " Easy win" / “useless match” and more of those pretencious answers. Do you think that’s corrects ? So yeah, when you fight against those littles shits (sorry there’s no other word to describe them) loosing can make you made and insult them.

I easily understand that the pool player isn’t big enough sometime to make completly fair matches but, i’ve seen a lot of premades so why can’t they fight against each other ?
Solo player that want to get into competitives matches would join teams of solo players and the match would be fair but Premade against non Premade isn’t.

On the other hand, why unranked player fight against Cobalt / Gold rank ? Is that too hard to make something to make unranked play against Unranked and gold fight against gold ? I mean that common sense, they don’t have the same experiences, gold have surely played more than unranked so it’s like making a race between a Ferrari and a Ford Model T.

I usually don’t care of insults, they just show how much the player is stupid so don’t need to argue against him, as a great man said " It’s hard to win an argument against a smart guy, but it’s impossible against a stupid one". But I just want fair matches, matches that would show every teams / players ability and not the advantages of one on the other …

Yup. Also, back then you had to be level 7 to queue up and there weren’t that many back then. So it was lowered to level 5 which caused a whole new set of issues of people not being prepared. Now it’s back to 7 and I don’t know how it will work out. I know the devs said the balancing algorithm is a bit screwed up but it’s not being helped by the small amount of people who are playing MM compared to pubbing.

My personal hope is that SD offers incentive to queue up for 5v5 MM. Missions specifically for it that maybe yield some more credits but don’t take away from the current amount you can get from pubbing. Or incentives like skins, cosmetics or even a chance at an elite case drop. Something beyond just the rank badge you get. Get creative and make people want to do it but also try not to make people feel like they have to play it in order to progress their mercs.

@Black_Bird Well it’s not the premades fault they’re playing against a bunch of randoms, that’s just the broken MM, so no need to be pissed at the premade for stomping you guys.

Of course it’s unnecessary and rude to say " Easy win" / “useless match” unprovoked. But if you guys didn’t just say “good luck and have fun” it’s completely understandable.

As for unranked playing with golds, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that if that unranked player is gold tier skill wise. Problem is that the rank doesn’t actually represent skill in this game, more broken MM stuff.

So, in your opinion it’s completly normal that unranked play against gold ? So levels are useless and rank too then. Levels represent the player experience on the game so if an unranked lv 5 plays against a gold lv 40 that’s normal ?

I know that the broken thing is the MM, but being pissed off premade stomping me and my “randoms guys” team is a normal reaction. Premade got a lot more advantages against non premade, first if they’re premade, that’s mean that they know each other a little bit (I mean for clans premades teams), they surely have a third party vocal program, to communicate, they surely have played together before, what do non premade have ? Nothing, just their own abilities.

So maybe MM is broken or maybe it has never work well, but why does nothing is made to make matches fair atm ? That’s probably something that people have asked for beforeI did, no ?

How is it supposed to know where to place you if it only puts you against low ranks?

Yes it would be normal if that unranked player is gold level skill wise. Should he instead in your opinion be matched against bronze and silver player were he would absolutely stomp them? I don’t think that’s fair. You can be an unranked level 5 and still be much better than a gold level 40, and if you are, of course you should be fighting against players at that level.

Yeah you can be pissed at the game, not the premade. And if you are, you can’t complain about them insulting you when you started it. If you can’t take it, don’t dish it.

MM tries to make matches fair, it just does a piss poor job at it. They’re allegedly working on improving it.
