Welp grats on ruining a potentally amazing game

This game was super fun. Games were close, objective based matches were a blast. People were out skilling you and you could appreciate that. Then you decided to introduce the Phantom. What on earth were you thinking. Sucking all the enjoyment out of the game when now half of the players are zerging around one shot meleeing everyone to death while tanking up everything thrown at them. Really disappointed.

That’s nice.
I’ve seen too many of these threads. I think that Phantom could use a slight tweak to his health or his cloak shield, but he’s perfectly fine otherwise.

Bait. Kill. Repeat. Mabeh teabag if you’re that salty.

First of all phantom was literally was just released this week, so of course there’s going to be an influx of players running around as spooky samurais.

Yes phantom is good at killing people and surviving, but here’s the thing. That’s ALL he’s good at, or can even do remotely well. Every other class offers something to benefit the team as a whole and complete the objectives except phantom (and arguably rhino).

Yes he’s pretty tanky, but once he’s down what medic is going to go revive a downed phantom who’s likely in or behind enemy lines? Once he’s down hes likely out for good until the next spawn wave.

If this game was TDM focused and not objective focused, phantom would be OP, but its not. Instead, we have a merc who’s only ability is to kill, and if he isn’t killing people he is COMPLETELY useless.

TL;DR: To counter phantom, kill him before he kills you.

A couple tips for doing so: Phantom players are actually pretty predictable since they naturally take back routes, and their cloak makes an extremely noticeable noise and is pretty easy to spot. Take a class like fragger or rhino and just check your back when there’s a phantom, and you’ll eat them for breakfast.
