Weird problem

I am currently working on a panzerwar arena map, and it is very very simple, only ~250 brushes.

Now the problem is, after the first test version, I made some slight changes, changed the ceiling height, and some textures but thats about it.

So I repackage the file panzerwar_b2 instead of b1. But now that I throw it up on my test server (running etpub) it now clients connecting can’t load it (including me). It just freezes up before it finishes loading.

Now I tried to debug it, but I’m very puzzled here, it works 100% fine under etmain, but will NOT load under etpub. What the hell could be causing this?

Getting a logfile and seeing what’s the last log entry is might help diagnosing the problem.

only errors in the log was not finding shader imagines for the levelshots, and the command map (which arn’t included in the pk3) and I have never had a problem with loading maps without those things.

So does anyone have ANY idea why this might be happening, I just tried it under jaymod, and it works.

Only etpub won’t let clients load the map. :confused:

Having finally got 1.5 beta to work, I tried compiling the map in that and still nothing :confused:

*edit I just made a box map, 1 box, the spawns and an info_player_deathmatch, and I STILL can’t load it into etpub. somethings definatly up ! please help :???:

#1. why are you using 1.5 when you know that 1.4 is recommended ?
#2. send the .map file for the beta 2, to etmaps@gmail.com and I will find out your problem.

Also, you should make a serperate installation for mapping in Enemy Territory, I learnt to do this the hard way :wink: I have a normal installation where I do all my playing and then I have another installation where I have the core files and nothing else. Actually, I have Fritz bot installed so they can test my map for me but that’s all.
