Hi all! I just got Doom 3 recently, and it’s awesome! I can’t wait to start making custom maps for it. It should be a blast.
I’ve had a few issues, though, revolving around the in-game editor. I have a few PCs at my disposal, but the one I’m using right now is my main PC. It’s slower than the rest - 512 RAM, 2.4 GH P4, 32MB GeForce2 (!) - but I don’t intend to play on it as much as do most of the map creation here, and use testing - with the help of friends - on the other PCs.
There’s a high probability that these questions can be fixed by switching to a better computer, but like I said, I’d really like to get them fixed on this one so I’ll have more time to work on the maps. First of all, when I bring up the editor the gamma is way too high in Windows; items under the File menu that are greyed out are pretty much invisible, for example. Is there a way I can get it to turn down to normal?
Secondly, and this may be the editor, but when I click on the XY TOP/etc. window, I can’t select anything; the only thing I can do is draw new objects by left-clicking and dragging. Am I doing something wrong, or is booting to Windows doing something to it (for example, I don’t even see the mouse until I click around on the editor windows repeatedly)?
Sorry for the newbie questions, but it’s bothering the hell out of me and I’d really rather use this workstation than move to another one. Thanks in advance for your help, and I promise the next questions will be far less basic! Not that that’s a good thing…

Edity: Oh, yes, and before you ask, Doom does run on this one, and quite well… for the lowest settings
